Re: JRX Pro SE runner build
You have to let the fast kid borrow it to race. Totally worth whatever carnage results when we all get to hear about this beauty cleaning house. Life has been getting in the way of track time. Soon, I hope to have some time to get this thing dialed with his help. Thanks to Dan @ Sabulatech, 8) I ha...

TQ10 resto
Back at the work bench after a hiatus while building a house and then messing around with HO slot cars over the past few years. I started to restore this TQ10 several years ago but never got past tear down. I did collect a few NIB parts back then, so I'll try to get this one in nice shape without us...

Re: TQ10 resto
I moved into a new house and have not fully unpacked all the RC stuff after the move. The bin that I stored the torn down buggy in was missing many parts, so I've been digging through moving boxes over the past week looking for the rest of the car. It's funny (and a bit sad) when I find cars/parts/t...

Re: TQ10 resto
Looks like you’ve got lots of parts to work with. Nice Yes the black 6 gear only motor plate would be correct for the TQ10. Thanks for confirming! This 6 gear seems to have a bunch of hours on it. I don't have a lot of history with the RC10, but this is the most wear I've seen in my experience. 202...

Re: TQ10 resto
Good ideas, thanks! I tested a semi-gloss paint pen and the results look decent. I'll test the Birchwood stuff, too, as I have a few other things in the safe that could use some touch up. 20240117_180941.jpg Inspecting some nylon to see which is the prettiest... I may need to peroxide a few pieces a...

Re: TQ10 resto
Supplies! 20240131_182053.jpg I'm going to redo the motor plate touchup. The paint pen I used is a bit too flat. I'll experiment with the epoxy to fill in the stealth holes on the chassis if I can get the color dark enough while mixing. I think these are the correct towers. 20240131_182435.jpg And s...

Re: show off your autographed RC car or buggy
Several years ago, Gary Kyes' son Ken(?) was selling Jrx2 and Pro bodies on ebay and offered to coordinate having Gary paint them and the Losis sign them along with a certificate. While I didn't get to be there in person for the autographs, I'm still honored to have them on my shelf 8) 20210620_1736...

Re: TQ10 resto
The aluminum black is working pretty well. I'll need to hit the edges again, but happy so far. Thanks for the suggestion. 20240203_102439.jpg Blued the axles and dogbones also. 20240203_103034.jpg Filling the poorly drilled stealth holes with epoxy. I'm definately not a body work pro. Re: TQ10 resto
Started sanding on the epoxy and it is looking better. I'll have to do another skim coat prior to final sanding and then I'll decide if I need to paint the chassis. 20240211_100455.jpg 20240211_100510.jpg The arms and hinge pins are cleaned up and ready to go. 20240211_110231.jpg And I cleaned up a ...

I used Autographics #103. They look "right" to me.

Re: Pro-Line 3020 Series Bodies
This is a Jeep Commanche that came in Ebay lot years ago. I've been planning on "converting" it from an Optima to a Jrxt at some point.

Re: TQ10 resto
Thanks! I decided to forego painting, but did apply a low gloss clearcoat I have on hand for HO slot car bodies to clean up some sanding scratches. It turned out pretty decent . Fairly glossy when wet. 20240222_192243.jpg But loses some gloss as it dries. 20240223_165016.jpg 20240223_164945.jpg Time...

Re: TQ10 resto
Thanks! Dang pleased with it so far and have stuck to my plan to restore it without any re-re parts.
The rear hole patch is not perfect, but it is presentable.
