If your car originally had 1/4" axles, you will need those spacers and the correct rear wheels.

I think that the 8456 rebuild kit is what they used. There are several on ebay right now.

thats a nice looking car. I am not certain of the wheels you need but they exists. As well you can find tires for the original rims and hex adapters for the 1/4" rear axles to fit modern hex wheels. Make a separate thread.

I actually have a Reedy motor which was sent to me by Team Reedy, Yokomo and Associated driver Michael Ebert which is actually a bit of a one-off wind (for a Reedy at least), being a 15Triple. I will have to pop that open and check out the armature/windings. Would a 15x3 be faster than a 15x1 or 2?...
