Re: RC10 - FF10 -Done-

Hi! New to the forum and enjoying reading through so much spectacular stuff, especially this build which is an incredible mix of skill and artistry! Can I ask Sandkil if you ever got to running this buggy once COVID restrictions were relaxed a bit (and the snow melted!) and if you did, how did it g...

Re: RC10 - FF10 -Done-

Hi Paul, No sorry havent run it yet. I know I suck big time! it's just life that's in the way. I really hope to run it once the indoor tracks open up.. if covid allows. //Erik No worries Erik, It's still a beautiful build and I read some other, older threads (maybe some of the ones that inspired yo...

Re: Kyosho Turbo Optima Legendary series - 30619

I had some torsion on my Turbo Op rere chassis. I think the culprit was the rear gearbox. the parts were a little bit skewed and therefore the front and rear gearboxes weren't perfectly aligned. After I screwed the upper plate and the mid spacer it wasn't that obvious anymore but it's surprised me n...

Re: Have Good News - Please post it here

All of these posts are great. Great thread. I just got back from Mexico recently, spent two weeks there for the first time ever. We try to go once a year, that will be changing as I think way too much time is spent working and not enjoying life. Life is short, take my advice and do more for yourself...

Re: Turbo Optima 2019 re-release in “boring” box art colors

Very cool model! Thanks. I've probably mentioned this before. In addition to the TO, I've made cad models of Turbo Scorpion, Ultima, Turbo Ultima, Ultima Pro, Javelin, Optima Mid and Mid SE and all of my custom builds. I've started the TOMS body but it's proving a bit too difficult - it has very fe...

Re: 2019 Kyosho Turbo Optima re-release!

Makes me chuckle (a little!) that it's Dec 21 and we're asking the same questions about when the next re re TOs will be available...! Paul I think Kyosho has been experiencing more than their fair share of supply chain issues. Makes me wonder how they make payroll or keep the lights on when ...

Re: Best chemicals / methods for stripping paint from old bodies.

I'm certainly no chemist but I have stripped a few RC bodies during the past few years. There are a lot of different chemicals that work to varying degrees - some work more quickly than others. Anyway, I believe in many cases the cloudiness or fog you are seeing after the old paint has been removed...

Re: srBFF Silliness Build

modelled up a test piece for mounting the trailing arms , quite tricky as the axle is 70 degrees angled from the pivot pin and the pin is 5 degrees angled from the chassis , I also gave it 0.5 degree toe in on each rear wheel , not sure if I'll fit it to the stock chassis or cut a whole chassis plat...

Hello from Rhode Island

Hello from Rhode Island and no it’s not an island lol. I started down the rc rabbit hole in 83 when I was 13 and my parents got me my first one a tamiya frog. I’ve always wanted an rc10 and finally got to add one to my collection of scale and crawler trucks. This definitely won’t be the last and I’m...

Re: Graphite RC10 build

That looks fantastic, very retro! You have some serious painting skills  The wing looks cool as it is but if you're going to paint it I think that gold stripe across the back has two continue across the wing too? Paul Thanks Paul Yep, retro just like me. I like the paint as well but there are...

Re: Graphite RC10 build

One small, almost insignificant , detail

Always found it challenging to cleanly route wires on a chassis.
At least in this case, an existing screw hole could be used.
The piece is a sway bar mount.

Re: Hello from Rhode Island

Welcome (from another recent arrival!) :D Like you I always admired the RC10s (and Optimas) from afar being primarily a Tamiya owner in my youth. Not that it was really an option (due to finances!) when I was younger, but it makes me realise what I was missing with the quality of the non-Tamiya kit...

Re: Optima Mid Runner Budget Build to LWB conversion

Well, I certainly hope what you are saying comes to pass. If it looks as good as their other re-re's, I'm in for two of them. So far, there's no mention of this on either Kyosho company sites. Just this kinda goofy guy posted something on his youtube channel - not sure if what he says can be trusted...
