Re: Raced RPM Ultra Molded 8080

Very nice example, looks to even have the not too often seen #7017 steering enhancement kit. Surprised to see a stock AE front bulkhead and not the RPM one considering it looks to be built from the entire RPM catalog. What a fantastic find, definitely one of the coolest buggy’s from back then. Real...

Re: Raced RPM Ultra Molded 8080

nice to see a car kit surface, not many out there. It looks like the car could use some set up help since it looks like it currently is pretty stiff...overall neat car

Re: Raced RPM Ultra Molded 8080
Not sure but the enhancement kit might be for the truck...
What are the signs it is for the truck? Still researching info on these. I am in love with it.
The version designed for the car has a short steering arm, the truck version has a longer steering arm. This is an exam...

Re: Raced RPM Ultra Molded 8080

I am not too familiar with these kit but I knew I couldn’t pass this up. What is the 7017 steering enhancement? I think the guy who owned it want king travel and tight turns. Someone said it had a front shock tower from a truck. The transmission is smooth as butter. I can practically blow on it and ...

Re: RPM molded chassis build

How did these compare to the tubs and graphite chassis on the racetrack? Really depended on the track...the buggy was designed off of the associated worlds version and was well suited for rough and loose tracks common at that time. I raced for RPM and was very successful with the car racing stock a...

Re: What is the rarest R/C part you have

These won't look rare but they are...1 of 2 sets of test arms for a RC10T. They were made with a special blend of RPM and fiber filled nylons to see if they could hold up and still be covered under the RPM warranty. They did but never went into production...I have one NOS set and one set on my Ultra...

Re: Rarest of the RARE

Rarest RPM part...the unicorn "steering enhancement kit" for theRC10 Ultramold buggy and worlds front end kit. We never put this in the catalog, it was offered to a few dedicated support racers and the occasional customer calling in for set up advice for the buggy. steeringenhancementkit.j...

Re: What was your first RC experience?

It was the late 1960s and I was still in elementary school. My dad was a truck driver and had heard about a parking lot with people racing little cars by remote control from a coworker. Dad was a former drag racer and shared his love for racing with me. We would go watch slot cars, tethered race car...

Re: What was your first RC experience?

That is what I love about the original Tamiya Mountaineer/hilux, all metal, almost IRL scale realism. It wasn't the halfassed plastic crap of today. I bought one at a garage sale, but, unfortunately, it was at the end of my RC time, so I sold it off with the rest of my gear. :( :x My buddy bought o...

Re: 2023 IFMAR 1:10 Off-Road Race thoughts?

The R/C hobby has a long history to look back on of how tires can destroy racing. I have been through a couple of tire wars that all but killed the classes and in my opinion, open tire rules do not work for anybody.

A&L Custom Team Truck #4 of 5 or 6

Hi all...adding this here because there are others already posted in this section...Daryl Lane gave this truck to me, his last personal truck, a few weeks before he passed in 2021. As such, I can see his touches throughout and it took me some time to get to working on it. As it currently sits, there...
