Re: Help with ID
Now to figure out what the correct tires, wheels and other things like tie rods should be How "correct" do you want to be? Unless you get lucky, nice early style 3 piece wheels and corresponding tires tend to be kinda stupidly priced. I went with the JConcepts 1.7/1.9 tires are wheels on ...

Re: Six Gear FDR
Just be aware that many motors with that type of can have larger diameter bushings at the pinion end. This will severely limit the amount of adjustment available, without hacking up the motor plate. The end of their cans tend to protrude a little more as well, limiting pinion engagement with the spu...

Re: Best Upgrades
Not an upgrade, but I think that parts availability is the most important thing for bashing. You will break stuff, no way around it.
I currently have 23 cars ( and three more projects), I bash with two of them. Both are 2WD Stampedes.
Parts are available everywhere. Even Autozone has a few.

Re: Jconcepts 10T/T2/T3/GT Wheels Available Now
I never buy directly from them, because of shipping rates. I mostly buy from Amain.

Re: 2.2 wheels on Ultima rere
If your wheels use 5/16 OD bearings, simply swapping them for 8mm bearings should work with some shims.
I'm not aware of a bearing that would fit the 3/8 bearing wheels. You might also able to find some 3/8 OD tubing that has the correct wall thickness to make some adapters.

Re: 2.2 wheels on Ultima rere
I had some K&S #5074 assorted tubing. The 3/16 tubing in that pack fits pretty well. I checked it on a new Kyosho axle and 3/16 ID bearing. The fit in the bearing was snug. The fit over the axle was a touch loose, kinda like a bushing. I'd probably put some Locktite between the sleeve and axle. ...

Re: Wondering about the new old buggies
Just because you can put brushless power in them, it doesn't mean that you have to aim for warp speed.
Brushed power could surpass the design limitations, stupid power will only amplify it. Now, modern esc and radio programming could probably be used to tweak all the usefulness from the design.

Re: Vintage rustler
Does anyone know what I would have to change if I put a brushless system? The VXL's had upgraded transmission components. The early Rulon peg slipper clutch isn't up to the power either. Probably earlier to buy a VXL transmission on Ebay and swap the components, rather than buying them individually...

Re: Dusty Team Car + Wheel/Tire Qs
If you have the 3/16 stuff, you can use the JConcepts 2.2 wheels. If you can't find them, you can use Factory Works rear hexes with Traxxas E-Revo wheels and the JConcepts in the front. This is the Traxxas/JConcepts wheels. Screenshot_20211114-184631_Gallery.jpg If you want to do hex fronts, the B4....

Re: New to me RC10gt
I always use a small pattern nut on the rear mounts anyways. I like that it keeps the mounts more secure.

Re: Composite chassis 6 gear buggy cleanup project
Those bellcranks are huge. I'd use them on something with a truck nose plate, they have more room. Maybe something to try. I use this on cars with limited clearance. It's a Du-Bro 4-40 end, Custom Works 2-56 (drilled out) conical washer, and button head screw. This particular car has DS bellcranks a...
