Re: Can you still buy battery bars or braid?

There are some cheap ones on Amazon, like those used in power tools. Ebay is probably the only other readily available option, at least for anything good.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

The kid wrenching on his truck for the first time himself. Adding a variety of RPM parts, ball cups and turnbuckles. And swapping out the Hobbywing 1060 esc and 20T brushed motor for a 60A brushless esc and 3500KV motor setup. Resized_20241228_124307_1735411420996.jpeg The RPM bellcranks makes a hu...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

A bunch of Spektrum stuff that was on sale at Horizon and Omni. Five motors, two esc's, and a shorty lipo for ~$100. That's hard to beat. Being that the battery was made for drag racing, it had 12 gauge wire and a huge IC5 connector. It was tight but I was able to swap over to a more common IC3. 202...

Re: Parts Questions

The missing input shaft bearing is 3/16X5/16X1/8 flanged.

If you are referring to adding outer bearings to the outdrives, use 3/8X5/8X5/32.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

The RPM bellcranks makes a huge difference in steering response. Good to know. Forgot to get the RPM rear axle hubs, so ordered those today. Also noticed today that the RPM rear hubs and front spindles use larger 5x11x4mm bearings, so put those on order as well. Luckily I already have RPM ball cups...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

I'm not finding any of the Hot Racing units. Any idea? Hot Racing ECT2106 Aluminum Steering Blocks (blue) - ECX 2WD https://a.co/d/bNzgr7c This is what I used on my Torment. It has survived all kinds of crashes, tumbles, and flips. I didn't use the aluminum caster blocks, only the steering blocks.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

Got some tires, shocks, and axles for an upcoming project, as well as a bunch of bearings.

Tamiya Blitzer rear tires all around SC10 big bores.

I really need to make a big Factory Works order to get several projects moving on.

Re: Traxxas karma?

Even if it were a higher concentration, they are safe to change in wet conditions. I'd blast mine with Electri-Clean and change them.

Most of us got exposed to tons of it when younger from brake dust and clutches.

Re: Clodbuster

From the original manual. It is just power directly from the main battery, for use with a BEC receiver.

Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build

These were mostly stripped with Easy-Off. I used a Dremel and brass wire wheel to remove any remnants.

Same.

I usually get the cheap stuff at Dollar Tree. It isn't quite as strong as the more expensive ones but still works.

Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build

I start with white polishing compound from Harbor Freight, with a polishing wheel on a Dremel.

Instead of the screw on mandrel, I use the ones made for a cutoff wheel.

Then I use Mothers wheel polish with a buffing wheel on the Dremel.

My first hobby grade car came from America's Hobby Center.

It's a Cox Bandido that was on clearance. I still have it.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

Some more Ebay junk rehab.

I got a ECX Circuit slider with an electronics parts lot and picked up a cheap Torment parts car. Between the two, I've put this together. I bought a new battery strap, gear cover, and front axles.

Just need a body and some wheels/tires.
