Re: Traxxas cars... I get it now

The sealed diff in the new drag truck looks very promising and will swap into old cases if you don’t want to convert (from what I hear). I need to get one on back order to play with.

Re: Traxxas cars... I get it now

The only thing I've broken on my Stampede is a bent kingpin, and I was amazed that it was all that was damaged. It was running full speed and I misjudged a turn, clipping the jack on my car hauler. It hit the one tire hard enough to send it (the truck) flying through the air.

Re: VW Bug Drag Car

It doesn't give any downforce on the rear, but it doesn't have any bad habits. Big part of that is how its mounted on the front. Front has zero flex so the body can't do anything weird on the topend. This is my backup car so I havent put as much time into tuning it, but its doing a to b passes in th...

Re: VW Bug Drag Car

The problem with the nova and many other bodies, is the front end catches a lot of air and deforms past 50-55 mph. A body mounted splitter will make this worse. Mount the front of the body as far forward as possible and brace the area behind the grill with foam.

Re: Turnigy Trackstar 80A Runaway

It's been my experience that gyros act weird in any kind of rough stuff. Of course, I bought a cheap Chinesium one. I don't know if it was picking up vibration from my Trencher tires on my Rustler, but it wiggled constantly when driving straight. I tried mounting it in the middle of the chassis, th...

Re: My B3 project

I never really paid much attention to how big the B2 and B3 windows are, those are huge.

At least if you do decide to use an original style body, JConcepts makes both of them.

Re: And more ebay junk

Got this one all wired up and painted. I had a HPI radio set sitting around, so I used it. And I mounted a Tekin Rebel esc on a Sabula Tech shelf. Screenshot_20210816-201843_Gallery.jpg The body is a JConcepts F-150, specifically for the 10T. It is painted in Tamiya red with Duratrax silver and gunm...

Re: HPI RS4 4wd help?

I did buy a brushless setup and radio receiver. A first for me and will put it in the HPI and see what happens. Will velcro and tie wrap the battery in for now, or when all that stuff comes in. I was amazed at how small the receiver is with this radio. I talked to a hobbyshop guy and told him the d...

Re: Dyeing Super Star wheels

Not super stars, but here are some cheapy white HPIs that I was experimenting with recently. I would think that if you have the chrome off and down to plain white plastic, they should dye just fine.

Re: Dyeing Super Star wheels

Nice. Here's a set I have, the other set went to my brother (he wants his de-chromed as well). I'll give 'em the ol' bleach bath treatment and see how it works. But I have to assume the bleach the wife gets is likely walmart bleach so I hope it'll perform similar to dollar store bleach. If it were u...

Re: Dyeing Super Star wheels

As far as dyeing them goes they dye great. But like all finish products go its only as good as the prep work going into it. As long as they are clean of all chrome, which comes off of these wheels easily, washed up in either Dawn original or a Simple Green type scrub the dye works great. The old fus...
