Re: Your favorite ESC (with photo)
Not an expert on this subject at all, but an ESC that I was introduced to recently is definitely my favorite so far, simply for its programmability. The Zeta Micro. Re: How to clean and coat vintage tires
I clean with simple hot water and Dawn. Then spray and wipe with aerosol Silicone spray. Some people state that the aerosols will harm the rubber, so just to be safe, I spray on towel and then wipe.

Re: How to clean and coat vintage tires
I have read some articles about preserving rubber on antique toys.. most of them basically talk about minimizing the inevitable degradation of time by using climate controlled conditions away from oils, heat, UV..etc. On old tires, I do a basic clean with hot water, dish soap, scrub brush..and some ...

Associated's '89 Stealth car (RC10GX)
Conversion kit from GrandPrix3D has arrived and the inventory for parts has begun. Printed parts feels strong, but there's alot of work to be done to them befor they look representable. Re: How to clean and coat vintage tires
Ok so I know this is going to sound a little crazy….but my wife walked by me a couple months ago and asked me what I was doing in the sink and of course I had a couple pairs of old tires I was attempting to scrub down with soap and water. She told me to try something she uses to get makeup off her…m...

Re: Restoration advice for Yokomo YZ metal parts
Soaking in a product like CLR will get rid of the rust and leave the part mostly shiny. Then use of a gun bluing like Beechwood will create a black oxide finish.

And don't sand those springs. The coating is very thin. I'd at best lightly scuff with scotch Brite, like the green dish scrubber if you don't know what that is they make different grit depending on the color of it and I think the grey is the finest. The springs are tough to replace.

Re: Restoration advice for Yokomo YZ metal parts
I learned how to do gun bluing on steel R/C parts a couple of years ago and the results are always fantastic. It's the closest thing I've found to a factory style finish. Although the process can give a bluish tinge sometimes but that's to be expected. It all depends on the type of metal. I tried su...
