Re: Things that inspire you

How many times can you be truly inspired? I mean, really inspired. But you can be truly irritated many times a day. Absolutely spot on! 8) I've been working on my negativity lately, though the "irritation" thread may not reflect this. One of my issues is random thoughts will con...

Re: Turned 40 today...

I hope 50 is the new 40... cause I'm staring down the barrel of that next June.

My 40s were great... here's to my 50s being greater!

Re: Cherished electric motors

The gray motor is a modified too. It looks like a Reedy Ti series with the label removed . This is a tough call. Which motors to prefer over the others. This is not a definitive 'top of the heap' from my collection, but more a delegation of preferred representatives. Most of these are motors The Fas...

Re: Cherished electric motors

Nice thread! I'm partial to this beauty. Brand new, never soldered up.....yet! Still have one that's been run too, with OG deans 4-pins. If you raced 1/10th on-road can-am/indoor oval on the east coast in '87-'89....you might have seen this 16T Double in front of ya :D

Re: Cherished electric motors

This is almost impossible for me to answer off the top of my head. Great thread to get me thinking about my collection though. Motors have 'value' for many different reasons, looks, performance, rarity or just an emotional connection out of nosalgia i suppose. My list out of my collection would cont...

Re: Cherished electric motors

It is funny - they look so basic but the MG Igarashi motor i have has the highest torque reading of all of my motors. The BoLink/Checkpoint slot brush conversions made the Igarashi motor performance step up another notch also, and I believe on the 83 1/12th circuit the Igarashi motors were more than...

What if... RC10B1.5 BFG 5LTi

The Losi family has had a strong connection to Team Associated and the RC10. The question has been asked, what if there was a pan chassis RC10 that came before the RC10B2, and the results are really cool. Multiple people have done excellent builds and this is possibly the earliest: https://www.rc10t...

Re: Team Associated Japan RC10GX (Rare NIB RC10-GX ) RC10 Graphite early

That is a tough decision. It is probably most unusual to stay as unassembled parts. For my personal collection, I like to be able to see assembled vehicles.

Re: Your top five cherished RC (by manufacture) in a collection?

that is a difficult topic for me... - Marui Samurai - Kyosho Optima (would be hesitating between my Turbo Optima and Javelin) - Kyosho Turbo Scorpion (although I could be tempted to put the Tomahawk here, but same as the Optima, there is so much in common between the 2 I'm cheating and making it one...

Re: Cherished electric motors

Not THE motor, but my best racing memories were with the B&R Magnum. So I was stoked when one came attached to a buggy I picked up a while back. Now it will be on display in a build I am working on (slowly).

Re: RC10 DS unboxing in 2022 (Japan kit)

...Mine didn't come with a body...is this normal or just missing? . Yes, it's normal. Associated made variations of the kit. There were 4 associated bodies that were offered with the DS but the racer kit(the smallest of the boxes) lacked a body. They also offered kits with no engine and some with a...

Re: Caring for vintage tires in 2022 and beyond

I have dry-brushed silicone oil on tires to improve their appearance but I don't know how it will preserve the tire over time. I researched a little about rubber dryrot and what causes it. Ozone seems to be the biggest contributor. With chemical exposure and UV light exposure as well. Temperature an...

Re: creating a "Wanted RC thread" (a better way?)

Well, I'll "chime in". So I do think the PM only thing is a good stroke, but what if the public reply serves as an etiquette "place holder" kind of thing? Pretty much everyone here knows the deal, as it is laid out upon joining (if the rules are read and comprehended) and upon ga...
