Re: Your favorite ESC (with photo)
Well, much like Frankentruck, my go-to ESC throughout all of my racing days was a Novak T-1X. I started out with it in my 870c in around 1988 and ran it right up until i stopped racing with my works 91 in probably about 1995. it never once failed me or let me down, remained competitive and i still h...

Re: Your favorite ESC (with photo)
If you're after home-made... check out this witchcraft before your very eyes then..... Ian Mullaney over in the UK has taken it upon himself to save space in his ProCAT for vintage class racing by building an esc into his chassis.... He just sent me the pics to post up on here. The guy is a ...

Re: Your favorite ESC (with photo)
Great thread idea. This is my holy grail ESC, that I managed to pick up a couple of years ago in new condition - a Century Systems OZIFET. I had one of these in the late 80's in my PB Mini Mustang... was my first ESC (you know what they say, you never forget your first!). I think these were made in ...

Re: Your favorite ESC (with photo)
I don't think I really have a "favorite" esc. Throughout my racing days I was pretty much a Tekin guy. 411p, 412p, P2, G9, etc. I did have a few Novak esc's like a T1x and a T4 in my early days that I picked up used. As for esc's in my collection, I'd probably go with something that is on ...

Re: Your favorite ESC (with photo)
My first ESC was a Futaba MC112B for my Blackfoot..So it’s a personal favorite and gave me an interest for servo mount style ESCs. https://i.postimg.cc/dVw0w7b0/52-C9-C18-F-1553-4-E42-B28-D-E5-DB99-BC964-B.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/L8D8X9S3/9-C1075-C6-0370-4-CE2-9-E14-58744-C6574-E3.jpg My 2nd favori...

Re: Your favorite ESC (with photo)
I haven't seen your Futaba MC-109 in person before. You have one in nice condition and certainly old and collectible. I didn't know that number series went that low actually. My rarest Futaba is the following MC-110 that came with the following Edinger model I purchased in Japan. It came with 35 ye...

Re: Your favorite ESC (with photo)
410-M5 was an absolute secret weapon back in the day. T-1X because T-1X, and 410-MXc for being one the the last of the titans.

Re: Your favorite ESC (with photo)
I'm probably one of few here who has never raced r/c competitively, besides a small homemade track in my parent's backyard in the early-mid '90s my brother, myself and friends made. Therefore, reverse ESC's were must-haves for us youngsters. My favorite back then was the Super Rooster, so it'll alwa...

Re: Your favorite ESC (with photo)
Right now I'm on a Relay ESC tip so it's my Nosram Tomahawk , really wish I could find my first ESC a Downsway Turbo Relay but they were not around for long and the ESC was nothing but trouble with the relay constantly carboning up and needing cleaning , still I wish I could find one . Re: Coating screws with enamel/clear coat for rust prevention?
I've been experimenting with Birchwood gun bluing after I remove the rust. It's not perfect but seems to be similar to original black finish.

I'm not sure what is available in your area, but I use Corrosion X and Corrosion Block on lots of things. And I live in a humid, coastal area.

I came across the following site a few years ago when I got into trying to protect some bare steel sprockets. Maybe it can help you or anyone else here:

Re: Coating screws with enamel/clear coat for rust prevention?
I've never tried the WD40 Specialist but I did try the other two winners. The Frog Lube, and the Hornady One Shot. I can't remember too much about the Frog Lube other than I didn't like the smell. There was (still is?) controversy surrounding it after people found out it's basically just expensive c...
