Re: Another OS Engine overhaul......
Without going into too much detail here's the restored 10C slide carb. This came out fantastic! 20250126_233650.jpg Just like new 20250126_233600.jpg And the engine basically finished..... The CV isn't a terribly good engine as the liner is ABN instead of ABC, but it still looks nice and they were v...

Force .12S .... What's inside?
I picked up a brand new Force .12S for $99 which is a pretty cheap engine here, it equates to about $10 bucks usd with the current conversion rate. This engine will go into a RC10GT runner to replace the CV-R currently in it. 20250127_211046.jpg What's inside? Let's take a look. Standard Force...

Re: Force .12S .... What's inside?
Normally you'd cut the crank with a sandwich bag while the engine is assembled but I decided to cut it while out. I have a few Associated cut off nuts somewhere but do you think I could find them? I ended up using a dubro collar that fit quite well. To be honest you don't need a cut-off nut if you k...

Thanks Kym, it's always fun rebuilding/restoring engines and rewarding when you get them running again.

Re: Force .12S .... What's inside?
Clutch time..... MIP 4-n-1 clutch which was the best clutch back in the day, much better then trimming the stock AE shoes. This flywheel is a litte worse for wear cosmetic wise but since it's on a runner it doesn't really matter. 20250127_220613.jpg All ready to go into the GT. This has non pull eng...

Re: Force .12S .... What's inside?
As you can see even with non pull start mounts the pullstart hangs down minimally (<1mm), quite acceptable in my opinion.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Bought a Tamiya Mini body from a local source, and it arrived today. Mini Body.jpg Interestingly, it's the older M01 style body, which takes add-in grille and bumpers... I was expecting the later style, with these details already in the lexan. I guess that's a good thing, right???? Now, got to find...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Unexpected home remodel project is really interrupting RC bench time (& budget) the last couple weeks. But still, taking small bites at projects and a few pics. (posting from my Iphone and the preview pics are all rotated screwy) First is one for the married guys. I’m using the wood stove...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - February 2025 ** - Winner - 1300GT
My recently rebuilt JRX Pro SE I've been running in the Silvercan class. JRX-ProSE-ls.jpg IMG_20250205_191601121_HDR.jpg My first hobby grade rc was this same model, granted not this exact car seen here, as that was long sold off in the 90s. This car came to me as a complete basket case but has sinc...

Futaba Magnum Jr 3S conversion
I have six Futaba Magnum Jr's and two Airtronics Xl2p's that use the fragile and nearly impossible to find angled battery holders. Even if you manage to find one, most currently made AA's are slightly larger than those of the past. Some of the cheap "Heavy Duty" ones fit okay. Having gotte...
