Re: My Vintage Schumacher Daytona Project...
Another small update.... I've been working on the gear mesh ever since I mounted the Irvine engine. When I sent it to RJ for him to play with, I sent up Nitro 10 versions, which come with smaller clutch pinions (25T in this case). The Nitro 10 range have pretty much set ratios (pinion and spur pairs...

Re: My Vintage Schumacher Daytona Project...
An 80 mph nitro car that appears to have the same transmission as a Top Cat. :D Were the internals upgraded for the Daytona? Released in 93, so Cougar 2 Works internals, perhaps? The transmission internals are certainly improved over the TopCat and original Cougar. This is the Daytona diff from the...

Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)
Deathstorm2024 started about 5 minutes ago here in Illinois Iowa area We've just had 36 hours of rain in the middle of Summer.... 180mm+ of rainfall overnight, in a non-tropical area. But hey, nobody's messing with the weather, right? ;) Hope you're good, Toddster.... and that the storm doesn't unb...

Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)
17 hours into Deathstorm2024 and this, I haven't touched my driveway yet except for the tire tracks. I'm 60 miles straight east of Todd for reference. People were freaking and raiding the grocery stores and emptying shelves over the weekend for this supposedly brutal storm   image000000 (...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Back to the office after an extended Christmas break, so had a couple of packages waiting for me.... 1. Some miscellaneous parts for my Durango SCT and Sakura touring car : The Durango parts will be an ongoing thing, as I attempt to complete a new DESC410R kit that has been raided; the Sakura batter...

Re: Tamiya Polycarbonate Metallic Paint - Backing colors
I was too impatient and pulled the tape before it dried, no black as a result, and two silver tests. https://i.imgur.com/YKqa7lQ.jpg Chrome paint pen vs Tamiya X-11 for lexan aluminum chrome testing, next to Blue test. https://i.imgur.com/gu57XdC.jpg Looks like Bright Silver is the way to go, in or...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
The only thing missing now is the stripper pole I think you'll find it rises up from the floor at the press of a button..... much like the roulette wheel flips over at the bar - at the press of a button. All that red lighting, I was thinking this might be Farmer's Bordello.... very upmarket... ;)

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Another Mad Max Mini in the works... painted the body, now to do the decals. Used Tamiya Flat Clear for the first time, seems to make the black much deeper.... not really flat, though.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
The argument seems to go both ways, and I've seen plenty of people say they put it on the outside. The way I paint, I rely on painting the inside, as it fixes up my unevenness ;) With this body, it has given me a different looking finish, and I do like it. It's not a flat, matt finish by any means, ...
