Midway through the B4/T4 run was when the change happened, so if you look at early B4 literature you'll see what LRP/Reedy had to offer. V brush motors such as the Peak Vantage were the last "Big Thing" to happen in brushed motors although it didnt last long at all. It took a little while ...

Yeah, I don't even bother to run an antenna tube; I just leave the wire loose inside the chassis.
The car came together great. That body looks awesome - nice work!! 8)

Nice gold tub! I would still make sure the antenna doesn't whip itself all over the place on the chassis. One way to do this is to still use an antenna mount and tube, heat it up gently while the antenna is IN the tube, then bend it - this way it stays under the body and it's better for the electron...

6217 inline block and 6218 inline axle. They were used on all the long arm cars, but evolved into the aluminum inline set 6220 and 6221 later on. The black one you have was used for the short arm cars- but was dyed as they never came in black

The ones on eBay are mismarked. See attached pics. 6221 and 6225 are the same, but 6225 are rerelease.

I think it's "normal" and mainly due to lower quality cells or old batteries, they sit there nearly fully charged forever and take ages to finish or fail to "balance"
