Re: Rediscovering my old RC10

Stealths are discontinued but most of the parts are still available. The outdrives are the hard part. They are discontinued once again. You can find some on eBay though, aftermarket and pricey- but great quality. The Lethal Weapon is a very smooth transmission but it came out before the stealth. We ...

Re: Rediscovering my old RC10

I've not had any luck with activepowersports.com. They list things they don't have. One time I got a quick refund, net time I had to ask, not very politely to get my money back. Both times for the Stealth out drive. Good luck!

Re: Rediscovering my old RC10

Just picked up the Futaba 3PV with R304SB receiver. How do antennas work these days? I currently have an original, about a foot long plastic antenna holder on the car. My understanding is the new 2.4Ghz receivers only need a ~31mm antenna or something like that. It doesn't look like it comes with a...

Re: Rediscovering my old RC10

Hi Zipity and welcome to the forums. :D Happy you've been able to reconnect with a long lost friend. I have a couple Futaba 2.4 Rx's that don't have any antenna (at least not an external one anyway). My other Rx's have antennas that are extremely short. It's nice not to have to deal with that hassle...

Re: Rediscovering my old RC10

Hey Zipity, I'm on my mobile but will try to cover your questions. Futaba 2.4Ghz receivers come in two types, one with external antenna and one with internal, hence, no wire. It's common to see both types. You will see the RX without designated with an "E" in the part number. Yes, you can ...

Re: Rediscovering my old RC10

These wheels are pretty hot: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-2-Aluminum-Wheels-For-Team-Associated-RC10-Classic/283325338318?hash=item41f78192ce:g:KVoAAOSwcqxcLTMi:rk:1:pf:0 That said, my guess is aluminum is a lot heavier. Anyone know if they make this same style in plastic? I did pick up some JC Racin...

Re: Rediscovering my old RC10

considering the gold tub, a and b will be very similar if you lay the antenna down on b. b can be as good as a or better if you keep it internal but raise the exposed part of the antenna above the tub sides. C will be marginally better or a lot better depending on how you place b. the 2.4G antenna i...

Re: Rediscovering my old RC10

Wow, those are some amazing looking wheels!! I've not seen them in plastic but I reckon the JC wheels are the closest thing. The spokes are really thin on those alloy wheels and I doubt that exact design in plastic would be sufficiently strong but I guess it's possible. Anyway, keep checking ebay; ...

Re: Rediscovering my old RC10

Cool! Vintage Futaba ESC, servo and Rx with G connectors... and a foam motor cover. A real time machine!!! You'll want to replace those plastic wing nuts with metal lock nuts on the wheels. Otherwise, it doesn't look like it will require much effort to make it road worthy again. Very nice!! 8)

Re: Rediscovering my old RC10

Active powersports is a drop shipper. That’s why they “have” the items when everyone else is backordered or discontinuted. They are a known problem. Lots of people have had to fight to get their money back

Yes, it's a problem. If you hold them to the fire, you'll get you money back. Did you use PayPal?
