Re: Re-re scorpion and the likes tire size?
I just built a re-re Turbo Scorpion a couple months back. It uses 2.2 front & rear. Any modern 2.2 2wd front & rear buggy tires will fit. In the kit, the fronts have white letter "Sand Super" logos. The rears are solid black-wall but the kit includes decals if you want "Sand S...

Re: New 2014 Beetle build for beach running...opinions appreciated
Here are some (mostly) finished pics...still painting driver figure. 20180506_114448.jpg 20180506_114122.jpg 20180506_114013.jpg 20180506_113931.jpg 20180506_113901.jpg 20180506_113918.jpg I kind of went mostly box-art and then dug through all of my old decal sheets to add a few more. I was stoked t...

Re: My Ultima 2019
The Tamiya TBLE-02S esc has a large on/off switch that wouldn't stick with the small piece of double sided tape that will fit on the chassis. I am going to have to figure out how to mount it. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50034808888_2a88fdba69_b.jpg 20200622_161127 by Justin B , on Flickr Th...

Re: Kyosho Turbo Optima Re-Re Tires
For bashing with my Javelin re-re I use Kyosho 2.2" Dirt Hog wheels along with the now-discontinued Proline Dirt Hawg tires. I've used the Dirt Hawgs for bashing for years & they last very well even on coarse surfaces like asphalt. It's a shame they are discontinued but they still pop up on...

Re: Optima Mid RERE
Oh well...guess I gotta get back in line somewhere. Since I pre-ordered way back in February I was hoping to have a decent spot in line.

My newest Ultima re-re (Tomahawk body)
Hi everyone, Kind of bored on Friday night. Thought I'd post a few pics of my latest Ultima build. It has a Tomahawk body. I painted this body up to be my runner . The body was purchased off ebay from someone parting out a kit and it was pre-cut version. As such, I don't love the cut lines behind th...

Re: My newest Ultima re-re (Tomahawk body)
I always felt Kyosho kind of missed the boat when they didn't release something similar after Joel Johnson won the 1987 IFMAR with a Tomahawk bodied Ultima. Seems like a whole new car they could have sold as a "World Champion" special edition or something of the sort. They would not have h...

Re-re Optima Mid with EXO Design chassis
Just finished my Optima Mid re-re EXO Designs swb classic version chassis & Rc Screwz stainless screw set. Pretty well stock other than universal drive shafts and a Kyosho HD mid gear and a set of Kyosho titanium turn buckles. I bounced back & forth quite a bit between the the parallel or pe...

Just finished my Tamiya BBX
It's a rainy ugly late-November Sunday, so I finished up my BBX today. It's pretty much stock except for the optional slipper clutch. It has a HobbyWing Quicrun ESC with a 10.5 turn Quicrun sensored motor. I installed a 25 tooth pinion as well. I like the contrast of the yellow, orange, red and whit...

Re: Just finished my Tamiya BBX
The stripes look so good it didn't seem right to cover them up. So, I cut my own numbers for the roof as well as the flag on the rear. I left the number plates off the rear body panels because they are difficult to get to lay flat without wrinkles. The ride height seemed a tad too high for me and so...

Re: Just finished my Tamiya BBX
Not sure how well it shows in the pics, but the metallic really pops. Painting the tires was bit of a pain but I think it was worth the effort. The tires aren't glued yet so I may remove them, strip the chrome off of the wheels and paint them to look like aluminum. I think that would suit the vintag...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
The piece is somewhere on the floor 😡 I can’t find it. I’m thinking about some CA gel in there might work or some putty that hardens to fill the hole. Put tape on one side to use as a backing. Fill the hole flush with baking soda and then drip super thin CA glue until it barely makes a slight dome....
