Was beginning to doubt my anodizing. So many things can go wrong.
So i grabbed a couple wing mounts and nose braces and off to polish/anodizing.
They turned out fine.
So I'm still blaming the duralumin.

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - May 2023 ** - Winner - morrisey0
This is my 2nd LosiXX. Fairly rough to begin with but I think it turned out really nice. Since my build thread, https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=47030&hilit=losixx, I added a Speed Works Pole Position motor, a Tekin TSC 410 S2 ESC and a Futaba FP-R112JE receiver. My favorite mod...

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE
Shocks are back to stock form for now. I haven't felt the servo was up to the build. So I ordered a Spektrum, a pretty one. It"s size should help with alignment to the servo saver. way more torque and speed than the placeholder Futaba that is in there now. Anodized a servo horn to match the res...

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE
The fit is really nice. I will shorten the horn to servo saver a bit.
Really good alignment as well.

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE
Couples of smalls today The idler was an attempt to minimize excess play in the rear gearbox. This idler is slightly larger than the Pargu. Also switched back to the Kyosho main gear pinion and removed the Thorpe. The Kyosho was also slightly larger than the Thorpe. All in all about a 50% reduction ...

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE
Back into the shocks again. Got some of the tiny o-rings that seal the inner shaft to the outer tube installed. A couple of the shocks showed signs of a small leak. Polishing the inside of the larger shock tube is important. Went back to the original large orange o-rings. The large white o-rings wer...

Re: Getting a Chassis Gold Anodized
My current favorite anodizing how to video: https://youtu.be/ZiclOSG9K-c A very entertaining video but misleading and inaccurate. But if inclined to try anodizing several steps are questionable 1. The hydrochloric acid bath ratio is not correct for Caswell 720 LCD method. He is using Caswell's 720 ...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
I spent a little time on Fusion 360. Have very little knowledge of the program so it took a while. It is supposed to be an idler for a Kyosho TOMSE rear gear box. I think I got the tooth count, Mod , pressure angle and dimensions correct. Finding the pressure angle almost broke my brain. Idl...
