Re: Mid-Six Spare Parts Project
So far your build looks very nice, I'm a big fan of taking what you already have to the next level. As to the bearing mod... Pretty sure Frankentruck is referring to the outdrive bearing modification. One of many references can be found here https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=44362&am...

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE
After a few hours of buffing and cleaning the chassis went into the ano tank, the dye tank and into the sealant tank. Then it got a thorough cleaning and a light coat of WD40. Although the pics don't show how the anodizing really looks, I'm pretty darn happy with the results. I took a completely dif...

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE
Time to start the build finally. Going good so far. These pics show the chassis anodizing way better than the previous pics. The pics above were taken outdoors under cloudy skies and it is usually a good time to shoot shiny objects. Not so much with those pics. optima46.JPG optima44.JPG Chuck

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE
Cold and rainy today. Great day to get on with the build. Tried to mount a Savox servo but the orange name plate was just too much so I went with a black Futaba. Really like the way the servo arm turned out. I even went ahead and mounted the servo saver on the correct side  optima49.JPG optima...

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE
Started to test fit the upper belt covers. Ran into a difficulty trying to get the nuts on the screws that hold down the front of the top cover. My fat fingers just can't hold the nuts in place while screwing the screw down, particularly the four front screws. :x Probably brought this on myself by u...

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE
Started to place electronics. My Novak 1 is pretty close to the correct time period, little older than the car but close enough. It also fits fairly well and the wiring is basically headed in the correct direction. I tried several other ESCs that I have but it was this or a Futaba MC230cr. The Futab...

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE
Memo to self- Always check your electronics before installing in your car! After spending a lot of time getting the wiring trimmed, replaced, terminated and routed, I found the Novak1 was dead  So I got to install an esc twice. I did have a super clean Novak T4 that is a slightly larger than t...

Re: Old School Rocket Car Build
Caught my attention with this build. Nice job. Looks like great fun. Reminds of the time my dad and I lit a jetex powered rocket car in the basement. The motor misfired and filled the basement with smoke. It was awesome. I was just 5 or 6. The motor, as I remember it, was like this one JetEX.JPG Can...

Re: Create a Porsche 934 replica in 4 steps
A really neat amalgam of parts from several manufacturers.
Great engineering.
And the timeless nature of the body along with the wheels, paint, graphics and lights it's just so realistic.
Well done!
