This is a modified motor and it does have the capacitor soldering lugs. With stock motors I'm used to having can solder blobs, but usually not in this location. I received the motor today. That was just a solder blob in an odd location. I removed it. I did also learn to be careful cleaning the can. The printing on the label can come off.

also i had some old good Power Kings in the Past. Great Motors for the Kyosho Optima and Optima Mids.

Lowgear, when you have time there’s nearly 2 dozen Team Pit Stop motors listed at the bottom of the instructions that your could add to your guide.

I knew about Trinity motors and Kyosho cans, but I'd never seen a Checkpoint with a Kyosho can before.

Hey thanks! I added the info. I removed the Bud's #7241 12x2 oval motor due to the potential discrepancy, and the fact there's nothing official to back it up.

Thanks. So #7241 without the black marker looks like a correct Bud's label, and it is a 12x2 per the armature. Whether it's an Oval track motor is uncertain but possible.
