Re: RC4WD 1/18 Gelande 2
Thanks guys. At this stage I just wish that it was all done. I've been on this since November last year, but I'm that kind of guy that if I start on something new this will never be completed so... Keeping on brazing and figuring out how to work around tech problems. I took some black and white pics...

Re: What steering block is this?
6217 inline block and 6218 inline axle. They were used on all the long arm cars, but evolved into the aluminum inline set 6220 and 6221 later on. The black one you have was used for the short arm cars- but was dyed as they never came in black

Re: Nix91 - Rick Hohwart replica
So you are making the stickers yourself? Can you please give us a brief how-to? The basic steps are covered Here https://mciracing.ca/p/design-your-own-decals A quick example: The peak performance marauder motor label, I have an original but I used it as a learning exercise. first you need a pictur...

Re: Might be the coolest vintage video ever!
This video is super cool, I’ve watched it several times also. I have a Hilux and watching the video makes me want even more. With all the emphasis on STEM education I wish Tamiya or Traxxas would start advertising on the kids channels. Get a new generation enthusiastic about R/C http://i247.photobuc...

Re: HG-P407 "Bruiser Clone" Arrived Today!
Not always. If you have gears or any type of metal with hard sharp edges, you create a stress riser. Sanding down or softening edges can make parts stronger . In this case, the gears might be engaging poorly due to tooth shape. softening the edge might make a better engagement. That's just my guess...

Re: WOIN RC10 "new" build...
While I was installing the steering bell cranks I found the shims for the bottom of the bell crank bushing nuts to be a little bit out of wack. One shim being thicker than the other. I fixed this with some T.O.P. Racing 1mm thick aluminum shims for pan car rear axles. These parts are a bit hard to f...

Re: WOIN RC10 "new" build...
The black/gold theme you have going looks very nice Nomad. What are the black ball studs you mentioned -- are they dimensionally similar to the standard kit studs? Yes, they are dimensional to kit studs... .20 and .300" long with 4-40 threads. They are broached ends though, (2mm). I'm pretty s...

Re: Matteo's RC Movies
But, most of mine usually only pull a few hundred views each, so clearly I've got a long way to go before mine are as good as his! Link? This is my most recent dedicated running video. Since then I've used clips in some of my review videos, but I haven't done another dedicated running video. Now th...

The splash guards are more to do with not seeing daylight from the other side through the wheel arches .

Re: Nix91 - Rick Hohwart replica
This has been moving forward. The bodyshell was a complete disaster, I hate painting and suck at! It had bleeds all over, and I'm too embarrassed to post it. Just as well it was a turbo mirage with scoop not really the right body. The decals, that was a partial disaster, getting what you see ...

Re: Restored Turbo Optima
At first glance, I thought perhaps your car was used for the magazine cover. You've nailed that paint job! Nice work. The whole car looks great! 8) I guess you should have enough spare parts to build yourself a runner? I do yes, both were intact although one had clearly had a harder life than the o...

Re: Turbo Rocky restoration
Cool! I agree, the car just looks really dirty but otherwise very complete. Are those Platinum shocks and are the wheels and tires original to the TR? This is going to be an interesting rebuild as I am completely unfamiliar with this model. Thanks for posting. 8) Yes, standard on the TR. The wheels...

Re: Green parts: not just for ball cups anymore
I think Associated conversation goes more like this:
Thunder Tiger: “do you want it like this or do you want NOTHING?”
Associated: “yes master, we will take what we can get. Thank you sir. Would you like your feet rubbed?”

Re: RC10 Graphite 6030 resto
Speed and torque wise, they're just better suited to on road racing..... As far as I remember reading.
