Re: “ToyAto Crawler” HG-P407 (the black kit)

Your truck looks very nice. Inner fender wells are a nice touch. The Grey interior and painted half look a ton better on a black truck.

That's the review of the good unit , he tests 6 different units if you want to have a look but this one is best on a budget , there is one in review 6 that's better but 4x as much money .

Re: HG-P407 "Bruiser Clone" Arrived Today!

More on the rubbish shocks , I had a good look at what is inhibiting axle articulation and found two more things . 1 The coil springs fully compress and limit the travel a lot , they just have to go if you want good articulation . 2 The bottom shock mount binds up badly , the stepped steel sleeve th...

Re: HG-P407 "Bruiser Clone" Arrived Today!

After sorting the motor and getting a bit more articulation I thought I'd set up some obstacles to try some crawling , firstly I realised that I needed to lock up the front diff to get any where , while I was there I ground the ends of the leaf springs for grater flex , so after those mods I was bac...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

Today was a good day. Piece of history here. A little cut up but mostly intact. These were designed by Leonard Wood of the Wood Brother racing. I’d like to find a piece of it that is signature worthy and send it off while I still have that option. 6D73356B-6D9E-475B-9CBB-E557DC6011D2.jpeg 4FE413A2-8...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

The manufacturer was TRC which I assume means composite craft made the carbon parts. The diff and nylon/delrin parts I’m not sure. RC10Resto has a thread on here and Bob Stormer has a good post on it showing the ad car. It has a Dynamite .12 engine on it, so it is later that I thought as well- shoul...

Re: HG-P407 "Bruiser Clone" Arrived Today!

Its only when you try driving and filming that you realise how hard it is , sorry for the shadow of the fat man and other giants , its also hard to get a sense of how steep the terrain is , anyway this was shot at my favourite dog walking spot St Martha's Hill near Guildford , Surrey UK. https://you...

Re: HG-P407 "Bruiser Clone" Arrived Today!

I just found out something rather interesting about the RTR radio transmitter , it has a mode/bind button and if you press it once both the TX and RX are turned on it cycles through 4 LED's on the hand set , these LED's are next to steering mode icons , regular front steering , front and rear tandem...

Re: Optima restoration-lots of pics - now a Turbo as well

I think I ordered a repro body for the Turbo at the same time as I ordered the Optima one from MarwanRC. If not at the time, sometime soon after, as it’s been in the parts cupboard for a long time. Now having these 2 chassis complete sitting on the shelf motivated me to get the bodies completed http...

XLR8, I saw just what you're looking for at Home Depot last weekend. They had stainless steel and aluminum in the sizes you need.

Re: HG-P407 "Bruiser Clone" Arrived Today!

Looking good. That seems to be the most popular tire to swap onto these trucks. I got my new tires in the mail and finally got them mounted. They don't fit onto the bruiser wheels tightly and it would be easy to accidentally glue one off-center. A little bit of patience and some careful gluing and a...
