Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build
Was polishing the first shock, as a proof of concept, to see what could be done, or the level of luster that could be acheived. I wasn't thinking that if I take two hours of polishing, and make it look like this: https://i.imgur.com/B3Ag8Qh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/psiSfP1.jpg - now I have to make th...

Re: Special Project Codename EF209 - RC 1/12 pancar
After the bodyshell, I decided to extend a bit the chassis project: create a forked version of the project with no dependancy on Kyosho EF-209 Fantom rear shaft, with the target to allow more people to access this chassis and to print it. For that, I decided to use a long M3x70 full threaded screw a...

Re: How to bond PLA prints together?
Acetone in theory should not work with PLA , it's more for ABS , however it really depends on the PLA as a lot of company's use a blend of plastics and call it PLA so it's worth trying . CA really works very well and JB Weld is a good choice as it fills into any gaps nicely.

Re: How to bond PLA prints together?
One thing to note if using CA on PLA joints...
Depending on the amount of handling of the joint, certain PLA filaments will show CA vapor fogging worse than others. If the joined part is cosmetic, clean properly with isopropyl first and handle with care to avoid fogging.

So this Genova doesn't appear to have anything to do with Masami's new consultant role with AE.

Re: '70 Challenger / Cuda
Don't even have to be a fan of Mopar, or the color red, to appreciate that one. Nice!

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - '85 Jammin' Jay Halsey Tribute
These are the Tamiya Falcon tires (still sold new on ebay), they say Off Roader on the sidewall, and are the closest thing to the vintage Tamiya Holiday Buggy tires, the ones that JJH used in the '85 IFMAR race. https://i.imgur.com/CbGghbf.jpg The Falcon tires have one extra spike on each side of th...

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue
Got the driver height corrected. https://i.imgur.com/8CMS0b4.jpg Despite the helmet, without any iris or pupils painted on, he's merely Born to be Mild. I'll get better at painting eyes someday and fix that. https://i.imgur.com/ngRTque.jpg Didn't add a 3D printed engine or passengers, left the US ta...

Re: '70 Challenger / Cuda
The absorption rate for PLA does appear to be very low. Remnants from my first roll have been left in the printer for a couple months now and it's still pliable. I reckon it will make an acceptable print despite never have been dried. PLA, however, isn't easy to sand to remove layer lines. Could AB...

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue
Yes-sir, looks fantastic!! Every RC collection needs at least one Scorcher and yours is perfect. BTW, considering the era this car came from, maybe your driver would be sitting on a stack of phone books? Very kind of you to say, thank you sir! The camera seems to be hiding some of the lesser...

Re: '70 Challenger / Cuda
Being that this is XLR8 's 3D printed Challenger Cuda thread, I can only stay on topic by restating that the instructions call for printing this model in PLA. I have PETG, and I am probably using it for different reasons than most of you all. Case in point: https://i.imgur.com/XosSTrZ.jpg All the wh...

Re: Special Project Codename EF209 - RC 1/12 pancar
I needed a statement color for the next step of this project, which will turn in my first very own design... Bright orange will go nicely with a black Kydex chassis https://i.imgur.com/NrmLg6V.jpeg The nut in the deep area of the upright is used to control the centering of the screw. The fit is tigh...
