Re: Turbo Ultima rebuild
Thanks! The crappy photos hide most of the flaws. That’s a great tip about using drywall tape and Shoe Goo and I was planning to use it here but my tube of Shoe Goo had dried out and I wasn’t up for a trip into town to buy a new tube so I’ve used the packing tape instead. By the way, that same mesh...

First one I ever had... 2019 Turbo Optima re-re build
This car was the unicorn that I could never have. It came out when I was 13, and there was no way my parents would cough up the money to get it for me. I also had strict rules in my house to focus on school and baseball so I couldn't even get a job to fund the cause. But fast forward to today, this ...

Re: First one I ever had... 2019 Turbo Optima re-re build
Night 4 progress. Steps 17 and 18. Short night. Didn't get a chance to start as early as I wanted to. Plus lining up steering knuckles is a time-consuming pain in the a$$.

Re: B4 Bonanza
Step 2 - on to the building. First up is a rebuild of my original B4 Team kit that I purchased new a few years ago. I hardly used it at all and it has never had any parts replaced, so it doesn't have any carbon components, but the plastic all the parts are made from is much harder than the more mode...

Re: My original CAT XL - freshly uncovered
Ok, so finally getting around to this... and have decided to go back to the earlier, more original spec a bit like i had it in the days before i sold it on. I am going to retain the full front and rear MMS set up, and add a few period accessories which i have managed to muster. My car had the earlie...

Re: Rise from your grave!
Wow that is a clean car! Ok, so if I were to follow your route with the parts you used, is there anything else I would need to do to the car to prepare it for the new tech? What would be a less powerful motor than what you have, a 13 or 14T? Oh and I noticed my tires are shot. Are these specialty t...

Re: Yo-clone-oh Dogfighter
I guess the sprockets could be CNC cut in metal or Acetal or even a harder nylon , so far I've only stress tested the Kyosho chain compatible sprockets as I only have one Yokomo chain and its very comfortable on the shelf , if anybody wants to beta test a set of Yokomo sprockets and is willing to pu...

Re: First one I ever had... 2019 Turbo Optima re-re build
I just tried a Marwan OT-66 tyre on a re-release Turbo Optima wheel and it fitted well. I didn't use the foam inserts or the inner beadlock band. I'm not sure if you'd need either one as the OT-66's are harder than the re-release kit tyres. FYI, might be an idea to warm the tyre up before fitting it...

Re: It’s starting again! RC10 Build number 4!
Doug You should gain appx. 3mm per side with the B4 front 9580 Caster block 25˚. With modern wheels and tires and long front arms this should put the overall width quite close to the max 250mm width. This would be the same setup I have on several cars. I use the 25˚blocks to keep the 30˚ angle of th...

Re: First one I ever had... 2019 Turbo Optima re-re build
Tamiyas Wild Willy was the first with the 12mm hex drive 2 years previously, but the wheel fits over both the hex drive and over the wheel bearing as well to locate it, the hex drive was just the inner part of the wheel mount. Tamiya also used a much smaller hex drive in some of their Racing Master ...
