Re: a thread for BambuLab machines
Sounds like good advice. Thanks. Extruder upgrades, AMS, etc, all in good time. I am retired so must watch my spending and delay some things until next month. That said, I can't print without filament so should I buy from Bambu or is there a better source? Also, can you please recommend a filament ...

Re: a thread for BambuLab machines
I like the Bambu filament for AMS use since they are detected and it simplifies loading and all. Otherwise I dont think the quality is much different. If you get some filament off Amazon id recommend Kingroon, Creality, Priline, and eSun. Some of the off brands have been a little odd to print with. ...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
It's funny you asked how many rolls I've gone through so far, the answer is 1 and 3/4; I just barely made it through printing those heads last night. https://i.imgur.com/ibQ3qR9.jpg The heads were printed at the 0.12mm High Quality layer height, I may try the heads at a 0.08mm layer, to see if there...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
For material, I'm just fixed on printing ABS. I guess it's because I like working with styrene. I think the P1S comes with a spool of PLA so can use it to learn the process. I'll probably switch to ABS when I'm finished tinkering -- or maybe just continue using PLA and/or give PETG a try. Bambu say...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
Ah Amazon is pure evil, just like eBay haha. I think they sell direct
And yes, you can feed with it- that's the mod I was mentioning where I relocated the entry so it's easier to load. I'll snap some pics.

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
I've had more success with Amazon and ebay than failures, by far. I just ordered the QIDI Rapido PLA in Silver, should have it Friday. Running low on the gray, going to print a few of the last parts for the Manx dune buggy tonight, and then sand the parts, and start painting. https://i.imgur.com/93O...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
My mistake sorry, the QIDI Rapido rolls are 1Kg, or 2.2 lbs, any color for $27, white is $25. Was going to edit that weight confusion in my last post, glad we got that sorted. :D PLA is pretty flexible, it's great for scale cruising, probably not skate park bashing. I'll try to get some video of how...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
You can download OrcaSlicer and start playing with it, it's really intuitive.
https://orcaslicer.net/
Haven't seen this, but it says it starts at the beginning.

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
Squeezed the last drops of PLA from these spools. Got my moneys worth :D https://i.imgur.com/8QwXYAj.jpg Got a vintage Tamiya-style body out of the spool with the least amount left, was cutting it close. Real deal Tamiya body on the right. https://i.imgur.com/r1G4L6O.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ApnCING....

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Amain was (is?) closing out some toy grade stuff, took a gamble on them since they didn't have much for pics or reviews. This entire lot was under $100, and while shipping wasn't free I did make another purchase that qualified so the entire lot shipped for free. Pretty impressed with the quality for...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
The Manx dune buggy chassis is supposed to be printed out of Nylon, but I used Silver PLA instead, with a 0.20mm layer height and using the Strength preset. https://i.imgur.com/TmzOhs7.jpg Even the ugly side isn't too bad, and was pretty easy to clean the supports off of, for once. https://i.imgur.c...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
If you want a dryer and an AMS then get a food dryer , it's what I use , goes upto 75°C and does nylons and PC just fine if you give it enough time , I wouldn't even consider spending big money on a purpose made filament dryer . I looked into a food dryer; it's a great option especially for drying ...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Just got back from my cousin's place. Coxbros and the diamond one hooked me up with early Christmas presents. No idea when I'll get around to it but I will. Bag is full of motors and cases.

https://i.imgur.com/LPrxpVb.jpg https://i.imgur.com/C3yM3N3.jpg The side with the cutouts for the torsion bars, is a bit rough. I will use Adaptive Layers in the future to correct this spot in the print, thanks to silvertriple for that tip. https://i.imgur.com/x6xTRg9.jpg Will be checking the print...
