Re: RC10 DS Classic - Build
The backspacing is what ruins every other option, the DS is very shallow, can't just hang an odd size wheel off of this, and expect it to be balanced. Look how short the axle is, and where the camber turnbuckle is, no room back there. https://i.imgur.com/sI8eyR2.jpg Turns out there is one very solid...

Re: RC10 DS Classic - Build
Finally addressed the toe setting of the front wheels, can get it close enough by eye, but this RPM toe-in gauge helps confirm. The manual settings gave it the worst toe-out. https://i.imgur.com/IV9oCNZ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/IASXOlj.jpg The RPM camber gauge is a must have, especially when the manu...

Re: RC10 DS Classic - Build
I think they mean trans outdrives lower than stub axles "just below level". But I don't know why I think that.

Re: RC10DS - Kit and Build review.
Drove the car yesterday and added more about the experience above. Really want to try this with some foam tires in the future. I also might try moving the rear swaybar endlinks to the middle holes and see what effect that gives me. Great review - thanks for posting. :D The original DS manual shows ...

Re: RC10DS - Kit and Build review.
We're on the same page. At least they've provided a wide range of adjustability and it should be relatively easy to adjust at the track. FWIW, I probably wouldn't recommend using droop to limit body roll as it could entirely unload a tire and make handling unpredictable. It's probably best to use t...

Traxxas Street Sport
Released by Traxxas in 1996 was the 1/10 electric parking lot racer dubbed, the Street Sport. Using the same all plastic construction as the Rustler/Bandit/Stampede the Street Sport, beyond some random hardware, shared no parts between any of Traxxas' other vehicles. With a wheelbase of 10.313in its...

Re: Traxxas Street Sport
Please allow me to quote myself from 2022: I bought one new back around 2000. I'd bring it to work with me when I was a night security guard to drive around an empty parking lot. It was really fast but handled poorly in stock configuration, especially with those worthless crowned slicks. What a terr...

Re: 1/10 Scale On-Road - Chassis Options in 2024
This VW Dual Cab body will not fit on anything, and it wasn't cheap trying to get it to fit. Turns out it's 190mm width body - who needs that and for what?? I still can't figure out what chassis is 190mm, everything I have is 200mm. 190mm is 1/10 touring car regulation max width so the body was mad...

Re: Traxxas Street Sport
I knew I subconsciously got that from somewhere. It was a 235 acre condo community nestled in the forest with 474 units. It was kind of hard to see as there wasn't much lighting but was fun and passed the time nevertheless. :) ...all the sudden wanting to be night security on a construction s...

Re: looks like we need a rere associated ReRe DS section next!
Just finished the transmission and it has a tight spot. I suspect the molded idler gear/shaft and/or diff gear are not concentric but I haven't yet confirm. Top gear is fully machined so it's probably fine. The spot is random so it's probably a combination of things. Anyone else having this problem...

Re: looks like we need a rere associated ReRe DS section next!
I actually love chasing stuff like that. Since all 3 gears are different tooth count, you can figure out which one it is by the revolutions or just mark a gear and see if it binds in the same spot every time. If not, mark the next gear and so on. Most of the time it's a tiny burr or piece of shrapne...
