Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

I do cheat and use a digital set more and more, but I like my Brown and Sharpe best. I bought these 28yrs ago while working in a machine shop. Nice. When I started my career I was gifted a set a 6" Brown & Sharpe's by a guy that was retiring. I used them mostly as backup. I just wasted ano...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear

Is there a modern 1:12 car that you like these days? Cue the obligatory Schumacher reference from me :D There is the current 1/12 World Champion Schumacher Eclipse 5: https://www.racing-cars.com/rc-models-2/cars/cars-2wd-4wd=2wd/eclipse-5-1-12th-circuit-kit-k203?returnurl=%2frc-models-2%2fcars%2fca...

Re: FanRC Complete Graphite Worlds Kit (Slider)

AE would do a little better. They would include wheels  ...oh, and the fancy replica box too. But otherwise no, the AE kit probably couldn't be any nicer. Now if AE did the coffin chassis....

Re: FanRC Complete Graphite Worlds Kit (Slider)

He's doing complete kits, now, because I committed to piecing together a complete RC10 myself and am mostly done.

You're welcome.

I think I have a mid to late Edinger here. No slots in the shock cups. https://i.imgur.com/TbvoaC6.jpg Frosted cover. https://i.imgur.com/3VL1WvM.jpg No writing on wrench. https://i.imgur.com/z398qqd.jpg The tires have nothing written on them. https://i.imgur.com/cPBn3nF.jpg This is the first sway b...

Well, I'm not paying it :!:  :D z-q29hbEP04 I bought a 48dp 81T spur to go with this, but seem to have lost it, it's just gone now - but would they have used 48dp in 1985? Thanks! Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear

All of the steering parts are cracked in some place. One set is original, the other looks like an early repro, the texture is rough. I've always wondered if the non-threaded portion of the ball ends ( just under the hex ) tends to add additional stress to the holes that tend to crack. At least I do...

Re: My first RC10T. But, what is it?

The front tires are original 10T #7870's and they have a heavy spot. I've spun them on the wheel 180 degrees and results are the same so it's the tire. Was it common bitd to balance them? Not sure how common it was but a friend of mine balanced a set of tires of mine and it was night and day differ...

Re: Plan B RC10T3 Race Truck

Shocks mounted and body cut out. The shocks are butter smooth with a touch of green slime and the big springs, Fabio can't believe it either. it's good to see it finally coming together. I've still got a few little bits coming to shave a few more grams off it. The rolling chassis will be over 100g l...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear

This may not be the answer but an answer. There are several tip types for set screws. McMaster-Carr shows one of a couple that could possibly work. The .075 being the tip diameter. Probably several other methods to solve the fitment issue. I can't remember if I ever ran across this years ago, not sa...
