Re: Are we ready to add an RC10T ReRe section?
Can someone explain the "outlawed" front wheels story? It was the only stadium truck that had narrow front tires/wheels when it debuted at the (I think) Florida Winter Champs back in 1991. It did well, placing 1st and 2nd. There was some controversy due to the "skinny fronts" po...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
That was not exactly today, but was yesterday... I went to Montluçon to a vintage event organized by the "Mini Racing du Centre" : Montluçonnaise 2024. I loaded the car on Friday morning, including a set up to allow me to sleep in... About 21 cars made the travel this time, and that's far ...

Re: 2014 Kyosho Beetle
Painted the front bearing adapters semi gloss X-18, like the rear hubs. https://i.imgur.com/lh3ff49.jpg Got the 5mm OD/4mm ID brass sleeves made for the axles, put them inside the Tamiya rims in the rear. https://i.imgur.com/ECkFl2F.jpg Rear wheels lock up on the friction drives with no problems, no...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
About the chassis it is certainly thinner and lighter than the original. It's like the CC. I don't have the classic reissue so can't comment on that one. Do you have actual thickness numbers to support the thinner claim? From my research, I have heard the 40th is as thick as an original variant. I ...

Re: Vintage AE Team / Worlds build thread
Shocks are finally built using 1.02 rear and .71 front hard chrome shafts with the recommended spacers. Time to finish up the small details such as a few missing e-clips and roll pins, then I can move on the wheels and electronics.

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
I like your choice of motor.
I kept 2 or 3 in my rotation of motors from mid 80's thru mid 90's.
I had better luck with the earlier 1985 version over the later version of the silver labeled 1987 Monster Horsepower stock motors.
Still have those motors today.

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
Though it was overkill for my cars and my ability, I ran the 1985 ESC-190 Pro (P) black sticker, golden letters, 6 + 2 FET. Bought it as soon as I could afford it. Tekin ESC190.JPG It was the only ESC I ran for probably 10 years and it still runs just like new. Still in my Delta Spyder. delta5.JPG C...

Re: Are we ready to add an RC10T ReRe section?
Personally, I'm glad that I have the opportunity to purchase a new 10T at a reasonable, non-scalper price. In my hording pile, I have a restoration candidate 10T that's been waiting it's turn. The box looks like it was used for BB gun practice. Having a new truck that doesn't need special attention ...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
The newer editions of the gears are beige. That was for the 2013 as well as the cc release. Does anyone know if they are sturdier than the original gears? Would also be curious to know the answer to this. Just catching up on this thread... The idler gears on both the 2013 and the 2024 40th car are ...

Re: Plan B RC10T3 Race Truck
Thanks, I ended up going back to the 3.00 front and 1.90 rear which is the standard kit set up spring. Reading a bunch of set up sheets that I could find the standard green spring (2.99lb) was used 90% of the time.

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
You have to appreciate the irony of you following up this statement by showing what looks to me any standard digital micrometer, and its battery being held in place with masking tape.

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
I do cheat and use a digital set more and more, but I like my Brown and Sharpe best. I bought these 28yrs ago while working in a machine shop.
