Re: Really off topic - End of an Era

I just keep buying broken mowers from Lowe's and putting my Honda motor on them.

They probably don't need much but that Honda doesn't need anything.

Re: Really off topic - End of an Era

We had a Honda push mower for a while that my father bought from a closing restaurant, and I remember how pleased he was with it. It looked similar to the one in your pic which leads me to believe they never really changed them aesthetically as this was going back probably 20 years. After a number o...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear

Funny part is they didn't add that part of the instructions to the 40th manual and only show 2 small spacers on the shaft, no surprise if you run the car that way the axles hit the arms which led me to look up the old instructions. https://i.imgur.com/w1eK5fD.jpg There are a couple big differences ...

Re: Really off topic - End of an Era

This year I was gifted an older Honda push mower that needed a tiny bit of love... After a thorough cleaning, oil change, new carburetor and set of replacement blades it runs and cuts beautifully. It starts on the first pull every time and is the nicest running mower I've ever had! It's a shame they...

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE

The installation of the rwracing.co.uk acetal gear did not go as smoothly as possible. But I believe it is partly due to my usage of the ball diff vs using a gear diff. The rwracing gear is much wider than the Kyosho OT85 style gear. Approximately 9.1mm for the rwracing gear vs 7.7mm for the Kyosho ...

Re: Are we ready to add an RC10T ReRe section?

"Sold out" on their website so apparently they are only selling them in the store. I'm curious; did you happen to notice the price? That may have been a smart thing to look into! :) I did not. TBH, I doubt they would have been able to tell me, as I don't think they could even see them in ...

Re: Are we ready to add an RC10T ReRe section?

Oops, I thought you were talking about the T. I didn't look at the 40ths to be honest, because I need another like a hole in the head.............although I thought about it. I just happened to notice the one on the shelf and commented to the manager that I was surprised that was sitting there, and ...

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE

Now with all the clearance issues aside, on to the benefits. 15% wider contact area vs the Kyosho idler gear. More face contact = more strength. The Kyosho idler gear, by all appearances, is quite soft and not very durable. Conversely a Derlin/acetal/POM gear is beautiful to machine, very durable an...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

I had been speaking with this semi-local (3 hours away) person about their Scorcher on FBMP for a little bit, but we couldn't work out the logistics of a pickup. After some time, they offered to ship it for less than gas would have cost, but then I don't get to road trip! I told them I would think a...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear

yeah the youtube embedding isnt working, i edited with an external link. Not much to see, but you can tell its smooth and thats what is important. Oiled bearings vs greased will make a HUGE difference. We are running chinese $1 a pop bearings these days vs the $80 high end NMB bearings sets back in ...
