Thank you Trey
Appreciate the help, I'm hoping it will free up with some running.
I've read people using compressed air gun and running air over spur gear teeth to gently turn the drive train over.
It's got new belts that are not factory so probably tight too.
Cheers
Craig

Re: PB Maxima vintage find
Sort of, been sourcing some alloy bits for the suspension towers, going to cut some glass ones as the plastic ones are so old now the plastic is deteriorated. As have the outlive knuckles, I'm hoping hotshot or similar can replace these. I have sourced new suspension pins, fasteners, and bearings. N...

Re: Oops, bought a clanger ZX
My usual conflict over using 30yr old period correct(ish) gear and reliability. Need to use some of my old gear so compromised with a decent low profile high speed new servo, Removed the ugly bright blue anodizing, sanded back and painted matt black. Also replaced the wiring, as it was not futaba co...

Re: Oops, bought a clanger ZX
 Other than that, I'm getting close to fitting the shell. Put bearings through the steering too, and bored with Kyosho golds, and this one came with one(?) Long gold shock. Got a heap of these closeout shocks and they are really good quality, better than even associated B4 stuff. And at the ti...

Got a good deal on the package lot, at 9pm at night, and the guy dropped in my letter box by 7am the next morning.

Re: Finally found a Triumph
Slow process, got up to fitting radio, but had the usual quandry over period correct radio, vs modern small footprint and reliability.
Turns out i didnt have a grunty enough old school esc to power the lrp, so modern stuff prevailed.
So easy to fit though.

Re: PB Maxima vintage find
When i got the car, it had both Maxima and mini mustang chassis.
Im getting some parts kindly 3D printed up by a contributor here so decided to morph them together and give it a bashing with the dremmel.
See how it turns out.
Also found a supply of MXL belts if anyone needs them, 318 teeth

Worth the wait, just released Fibrelyte JRX-Pro carbon chassis
I got this old chassis with a box of odd cars 5years ago now and have been slowly chipping away at rebuilding them. I had a new JRX-Pro and always liked it; this one had seen better days so I contacted Stephen at FibreLyte to look into Moulding a replacement kick up chassis. I sent him the old chass...

Re: Worth the wait, just released Fibrelyte JRX-Pro carbon chassis
Spent some time slowly collecting bits as finances allow, rpm ball ends, lundsford turnbuckles, and 3D Printed front bulkhead, wing buttons and battery clip. I replaced all the hardware with stainless cap screws and could only find metric nylon nuts, so will tap these out to suit 4:40 etc. Collector...

Re: Worth the wait, just released Fibrelyte JRX-Pro carbon chassis
Heres some as found pictures, not sure why the saddle pack holes were cut in the chassis, pretty sure its not factory.
Would of been a lot of work for minimal performance gain compared to standard stick pack

Optima Mid Turbo LWB Custom special Conversion
Probably my first decent (nib) rc car was a TOM Custom special "bathtub" in NZ the custom had the duralinium saddle chassis, plastic shocks, and mechanical speed control but the custom special had a fiberglass saddle pack chassis, golds, and ball diffs. Pretty sure it was a manufacturer ru...

Re: Optima Mid Turbo LWB Custom special Conversion
I appreciate some people would rather restore the turbo mid SWB, but i had one , and it was a bit of a dog compared with the LWB, and it doesnt owe me much so.. Saying that, i bit the bullet and ordered the OT replica chassis and top deck from Fibrelyte, new belt from Tough Racing and shell/belt cov...
