Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - January 2022 ** - Winner - LTO_Dave
Hot Trick ‘Trinity’ Optima. This is a car I have been lusting after since seeing it as a 12 year old kid in a December 1986 mag article. It took me quite a while to source all of the parts required for this build, especially the elusive Trinity upgrades to the already hard to find Hot Trick conversi...

Re: Hot Trick Optima 'Trinity Car'
This must be the first time i have been reluctant to add too many stickers to a shell.
It is a perfect low-rider fit

NODIS Optima belt drive conversion
Seeing as my Optima is in the BOTM this month..... and there is a strong Kyosho showing among the other entries.... Unicorn rarity alert! I recently got sent a bag of NODIS aluminium parts, mainly diff gear, from a gent who used to be good friends with Don Ison of NODIS and also who used to ...

Re: So You're Into RC Cars. WTF Else Do You Do?
Interesting thread to read - good to find out what makes the familiar usernames on here tick apart from vintage RC. Some interesting hobbies and occupations have already been mentioned. Just before i got into RC as a kid the BMX revolution hit the UK, and I was thoroughly swept along with that. Befo...

Re: Motor Collection - Old School Horsepower
Another Demon, an early one too. This is a never soldered and unused pre-Sagami silver can Mister T Special. These were THE motors to have in your swb drilled, milled and lightened early RC10 on the UK racing scene. This was from a period before Nick Adams had commissioned the DEMON logo endbells so...

Gisom Alloys
I have posted up a fair few cars with the more typical 6 hole Gisom alloys, and also my Coyote build has the lovely gold set of tri-holes pictured here, but I have never started a specific thread for them I don't think. Gisom are Italian-made, and were the rims of choice for the Italian TAG racing t...

Re: Team Demon 15Double - double endbell bearing mod
I am in contact with Simon Tooley so I have just asked him. I also have a May 1988 mag here and Chris Boakes is listed in the modified A Final tech chart as running an Optima Mid.... in fact he also ran a 2wd Optima Mid in the 2wd modified class and also made the A!

Re: Team Demon 15Double - double endbell bearing mod
Well as suspected the team primarily ran Cat XLS cars, although Mr. Tooley mentioned the occasional Optima Mid was also tried out. Couple of supporting pics with his message too, and you can clearly see the Demon logo stickers on the wings 8) Screenshot_20220124-085352.jpg Screenshot_20220124-093204...

Titan Pro-X ESC
Picked this up a while ago but only now having a closer look at it. It is actually in really nice shape, complete with the original Titan R/C Products wiring and heatsinks. I was after another pink ESC to go with my Tekin one, so this popping up, and receiving very little eBay interest, worked out b...

NODIS RC10 gearboxes - rarity
I already have another thread detailing one of these rare beasts which I picked up a while ago from Richard Isherwood (who was sponsored by Don Ison of NODIS prior to his Team Kyosho days), but never did I think i would locate another, let alone several! Through a very generous RC community member I...

UK Lightweight Racer
So, this is one i am building to run... in fact it is going to be a back-up car for another unusual RC10 I am building for the UK Revival meeting over the summer. It therefore has a spattering of used and older parts, but will also have some nice UK-biased bits and bobs too. It is based around a ver...

Re: UK Lightweight Racer
I bought a job lot of parts and that liner was in the box when it arrived. I wouldn't quite work it out as it just looked like a repro goldpan undertray which was slightly too small. I didn't think about trying it inside of the chassis until this machined one arrived. Then it dawned on me and it is ...

Re: 'The Concept Car' 4WD RC10
I guess it is more of a UK thing as it was the British take on a 4wd RC10 conversion. As such - right up my street though and I have been wanting one since 1988. They were hellishly expensive back then, plus also most sold as pre-orders before they were even released. I was just fortunate enough to ...

Brimod Thermal Charger
I have been after one of these for several years now - i never even saw one back in the late 80's and i think they are even harder to source than the Brimod shocks... Anyway I have finally managed to locate and buy an absolutely mint example so am pretty chuffed to have expanded the Brimod collectio...

Re: Brimod shock build-up
You need to update this page mate  and sell me some as well  Yes... the shock timeline has been detailed a little more since this post was initiated. I have made quite a number of brimod posts now though detailing bits and bobs. Maybe I should put a reply together for this thread with...
