Re: Next up- The Halsey edition RC10
Does one go this route to build a stealth? Or maybe it's easier to get the FanRC one? 🧐 Id hold off on the FanRc until he sorts the gritty diff plates and fixes the gear mesh issue. As much as I hate to say it, the AE trans is probably the way to go for now at least. Good to know.. thank you.. what...

Re: Next up- The Halsey edition RC10
The new gear diff FanRC trans requires drilling the motor plate but I don't think you drill the chassis at all. From what I've seen it's just a simple drill jig for the motor plate
But yeah that's the main thing we concentrated on with our case- no drilling for ANY rc10, and any brace fits as well

Re: (1986-2005) RC Car Action Archives
I have a complete collection of RCCA 1986-96, the first 10 years, plus all the books and special issues.. and a 10 year old printer scanner
It would be a big project for sure!

Re: (1986-2005) RC Car Action Archives
RCCA stripped out the ads when they scanned them years ago. It sucks, those were the best part. Unfortunately nobody else has had the time or means to scan their collection. Moms are the best. They know to keep these things that would otherwise be trashed years ago. I think I have every issue up un...

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue
Getting back to the Tamiya's. I wanted to push this Sand Scorcher build just a bit higher, if possible. This will be a shelf relic, and was the holy grail to me as a kid. There are (3) different VW motors available in 3d print form, for the Sand Scorcher: https://i.imgur.com/fU2kOMh.jpg https://i.im...

Re: Plazma Limited - Last 1/12 Re-Release?
I hope they do a few more Plazma kits myself! A few years back I was hunting for a nice original Plazma mk II, during my hunt, Kyosho dropped the first Fantom EP legendary kit, so I jumped on that, not even thinking they’d do a Plazma later. Last month I let my 11 year old build his first kit, a re ...

1991 Detroit Worlds Special Stealth Yokomo Cliff Lett
I translated this article from a german magazine, january 1992: In August 1991 Team Yokomo aimed to defend their world's title. They did so by finishing first and second, but not with their production Works cars, but with cars that were designed especially for this worlds track. It was forbidden to ...

Re: RCCA Project Optima
I know this is a bit of an old thread...dead for 13 years...but I'm looking for a bit of help making a dream come true. I am trying to build a replica (and a few tributes) of the December 1987 RCCA Project Optima truck. Pargu builds several Tecnacraft replica wheels, but not these. I wrote him and h...

Re: RCCA Project Optima
Also, I know this is in the Ad Scans section but it was the best thread I could find.
Mods, please let me know if it would be better if I create a new thread in my hunt for an original wheel for a sample...I was unsure where was best to post.

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue
Your license plate does look great. I'll look in to the gloss decal sheets for color laser printers, would like to print on the good stuff if possible. Three fried ROM chips on this Commodore SX-64, has kept me troubleshooting and researching for days now. https://i.imgur.com/fBMv0r7.jpg Better than...

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue
Please tell me you're running your 3D printer with a Commodore 64... 8) 8) 8) Laser prints are more resilient than inkjets. Inkjets require lamination especially on vinyl where the ink comes off easily. Unlaminated laser prints will wear and fade too, just not as fast. Laminating makes the de...

The retro-not-real Turbo Ultima build
Welcome to my discussion thread for the Kyosho Ultima WC 20th kit. My intent is to make the finished product look like a classic Turbo Ultima with the wrong colored shocks. I’ve never actually owned a Turbo Ultima so once it comes to mounting the Tomahawk body and lexan wing it’ll veer off the manua...

Re: What Type Of Nylon Is Used On AE Vehicles?
Subject kinda says it all. Are we talking 6, 6/6, 6/9, 4, 12, etc etc etc? Thanks I asked Richard Royal of RPM about the nylon and this is what he told me Basically AE is using a modified 6/6 with additives for durability. The difference in additives is the difference between RPM and AE 6/6 PA. At ...
