Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - March 2025 ** - Winner - silvertriple
This is a custom chain drive Tamiya Frog. Be sure to zoom in on the pics to see all the details. It has an ultra tall gear ratio with this setup. The B&R that was originally chosen for the build just didn't have enough torque, so in went a Lemans 550 360ST unit. It worked perfect. It is not just...

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)
Definitely have no interest in buying AE's copy of someone else's design. If anything, this has got me more interested in doing a FW Ten4.1 conversion.

Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)
Being Mexican iguanas, they probably like jalapeños.
I can confirm that they do.

Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)
Just bought it two weeks ago Resized_20250302_180804.jpeg  That looks very familiar. I have repaired worse. Not because I am good but because I had a LOT of practice. The cool thing about foamies is that all you need is glue and occasionally part of the original foam packaging to repair just a...

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)
Mine bounces back and forth between tomorrow and Friday. So knowing ups it will be Monday  The belt is the same, which in turn means the pullies, while plastic, are the same tooth count and the location of the front gearbox has to be within 1.5mm or else that belt wouldn't work. Pretty confiden...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)
The local fablab does open 2 evenings every months, since the beginning of the year for makers, and following the training, i'm able to work almost in full autonomy on the CNC machine and I'm not that far of the same on the Laser cutter. Today I used the cnc machine. Carved some wood (no pictures, i...

Re: PB Maxima vintage find
When i got the car, it had both Maxima and mini mustang chassis.
Im getting some parts kindly 3D printed up by a contributor here so decided to morph them together and give it a bashing with the dremmel.
See how it turns out.
Also found a supply of MXL belts if anyone needs them, 318 teeth

AE RC10 4wd .step files
Obviously not from AE, these were taken from the parts as I built the kit. If anyone wants to play with them, here ya go. Probably not 100%, but should be a real good start. These measurements taken from the kit parts, and have not been adjusted at all for 3d printing. You may need to open up holes,...

Amazing work in a short period of time!
Now we can make our own copy of the copy.

Re: Factory Works Ten4.1
lengthwise presents a problem when using a shorty lipo, as the terminal is right where the belt sits. If using a conventional pack the leads exit the front so no big deal there. Our FW version of the lipo shorty tray is my favorite for this application as well as the rc10 4wd. https://factoryworks.c...
