Re: '91 WC Stealth vs B4
One necessary but seemingly difficult item to find is the chassis standoff posts. I checked McMAster-Carr but they don't seem to have the tapered version we need. If anyone has an idea where to find this please advise.

Re: '91 WC Stealth vs B4
The hope is that we can 3D print the suspension components and CNC the chassis and shock towers. Ultimately we (or anyone else) would need to provide the remaining parts; tranny, battery cup, rear bulkhead (and CF brace), wheels, bearings, motor mount and all hardware. The rear bulkhead needs to be ...

Re: 91 Masami Stealth replica (Arm injection molds ready)
You know seeing the other thread on the car makes me want to fire this one back up. I don't think I have the ability or time to do it though. Only time will tell.... Jake, Finding this forum and seeing what you started IS what brought me back into the hobby after a 20-years hiatus. But I do underst...

Lets hope so! Doesn't look like Associated has any intention of releasing a tribute kit. With modern technology it can be done, the trick will be keeping the cost downslotcarrod wrote:If you are making a reproduction kit for future sales? I would like to put my name down for one!

Re: '91 WC Stealth vs B4
Here's some scaled 2D drawings cut out and overlaid. Includes the upper and lower deck, suspension arms and rear mounting blocks. Fred will need to convert this to 3D CAD models with the hope that we can have complete chassis, shock towers and suspension arm set up by early fall. The steering linkag...

Re: '91 WC Stealth vs B4
Just want throw out a huge appreciation to Steve Husting!! Steve was kind enough to send me some additional close up shots to help refine various details of our all-time favorite 2WD buggy. Short of being able to take actual measurements of the car directly; these new shots should really help to ens...

Re: My Works '93
I'm not running the car; I'm afraid someone here would assassinate me  The only thing I wish were different is the pink and black Yokomo decal. I wish I had the same decal in either blue, green or black. I just pulled all of my stuff out of storage and took a little trip with my wife to a local...

Re: '91 WC Stealth vs B4
I finished up my 2D diagram of the upper deck last night and have been working on the main chassis. It's similar to the Comp Craft version but their are distinct differences. The more I study the car and realize what they did it becomes more clear why they didn't release it. There is significant mat...

Re: My Works '93
I appreciate the compliments
I toyed with the idea of running it a few times in recent years but decided to hold off and i'm glad i did. One of the things i love about that era is the body styling. The current cab fwd bodies make me want to puke..lol

My Works '93
I built but never raced this Works '93. My local track shut down; I went off to College and this sat in a box for 20-years. I always thought the Yok cars were the best engineered; first rate fit and finish. http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu233/2003M5Rocks/RC/image_zpse5a4e22a.jpg http://i651.pho...

Re: '91 WC Stealth vs B4
Can I pay now and wait a year or so for the bits to arrive! ed Patience 8) I finished up the 2D dimensional diagram for the rear A-arm and block but Fred is swamped at work so it will be a couple of weeks before the 3D model's can be completed. It's important we get this right and there's...

gomachv: I'm sure ours are very close to each other but I doubt they are absolutely identical. I don't want everyone to get too excited and then be disappointed. Re: '91 WC Stealth vs B4
so since the B5 is based on the B4 and the B4 is based on the 91 worlds car, the B5 design is 23 years old! Pretty much. Back in the late 80's-early 90's they had the R&D budget. Nearly all focus was on building the next World Champ 2WD. The RC10T was the only other off-road product; no Nitro, ...

Re: '91 WC Stealth vs B4
The 91 Stealth car is my ultimate want list buggy. I'm sure that goes for many people. I think a replica can be built with the chassis being the easier part while the suspension is a real challenge. I need to find a good CAD modeler who's preferably experienced with R/C. I figure that a combination...
