Re: Yet another Customised Optima Mid Custom Special
You can just use the Optima Mid gear and belt pulley with the Lazer diff parts... I think anyways... That wouldn't do any good as the problem is in the design of the optima mid itself. The gearboxes must be taken apart in halves. And then the belt covers need to be re sealed again. Last night I spe...

Re: Optima Long travel Suspension
I think the Turbo and Salute kind of both addressed that issue...the Turbo body was much more wing-like, especially at the rear, and the Salute had a wing. I don't know what was up with the Pro, though, but the weight distribution on that car was probably a bit different than the Optima/Turbo/Salut...

Re: Yet another Customised Optima Mid Custom Special
Why not just rebuild the ball diffs? gear diffs can be tricky to get right with all the different oils out there. You may add oil to diff and find out that it doesn't meet your needs giving you two options, drive it like it is or tear it down and try a different oil. Rebuild your ball diff and be d...

Re: Optima Long travel Suspension
One of the few styled buggies that looks great without a wing. I wonder if the optima would handle better with a wing. It does, actually. The Optima back in the day tended to land nose down. Adding a wing helped it to land jumps better. Re: The bumper brace: Pargu makes an aluminum brace that inclu...

Re: Optima Long travel Suspension
I ask this question because the optima mid cant work without a wing. That could be because of the mid motor. For the optima the motor is overhung at the rear giving it more weight and grip and less steering too. So perhaps a wing might cause more understeer .
