Re: Yet another Customised Optima Mid Custom Special

Drove the car on Saturday evening on TMB track, the large track as in the video, and the car was superb. It handle the bumps like a champ and took the huge jump without faltering even once. Traction was rather good as the surface was mostly hard packed. No major reliability issues other than the rea...

Nice, is that the final design layshaft? Wishbones do look stunning and like the pivot blocks and would also look stunning in white as well. hi man, no that is my first prototype. The final design is on the paper underneath the car..notice it ? I used the arms on my optima mid CS for 4 packs now an...

Re: Yet another Customised Optima Mid Custom Special

Finally what did me in was I broke a front right ZX arm.. Oh no...now the "nylon isn't as good as fiber reinforced stock arms" gang is gonna have to stomp ya! It's all the fault of that hinge pin! Evil little B*****d, sneaking out of the arm like that! :P I know you meant that as sarcasm,...

Re: Yet another Customised Optima Mid Custom Special

Finally tested my car against a dingo, a RC10 T4.1 ,and a thunder tiger 1/8 EP. I also brought my friends Lazer ZXR Mk2 for testing. I ran the ZXR first and I was amazed that it handle the bumps by soaking all of them up without losing composure. And the shocks weren't even big bores or kyoshos. The...

Re: Cox/Kyosho Circuit 1000 Buggy

Yeah pargu's prices are damn high, I guess the salaries of Korean people are high too. 76 dollars for a set of lazer ZX arm mounts is plain crazy. I bet I can make alloy ones and sell them about 50 bucks.

Re: Yet another Customised Optima Mid Custom Special

Cool stuff acyon. Just realized this was your buggy. Did you get your lipo location figured out? What type of track are you running this at ? I took my old zx-5 on an indoor off road clay track last month and I broke every single plastic piece on it lol. I had a second parts car and at and of 2 wee...

Re: Yet another Customised Optima Mid Custom Special

Im curious to see how well the plastic c hubs hold up in racing. Very nice work! The only part that concerns me is the upper part where the top kingpin is mounted...it might be a bit thin there. On the plus side, it is ballraced and should be held securely in place by the camber link. Me too, but I...

Coelacanth wrote:Nice work on the C-hubs. How were they made?
I drew it on solidworks, making sure everything fits properly, then made a drawing, asked my plastics machinist to make 2 sets for me, one for my Lazer and the other for this car. The material is P.O.M

Re: Yet another Customised Optima Mid Custom Special

I just got my own designed ball bearing POM C hubs. Those are standard unmodified ZX-5 knuckles part number LA219-4. http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x87/alcyon2sp/20140405_141755_zps0a825f8e.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x87/alcyon2sp/20140405_151440_zpse0468357.jpg http://i185.photobuck...

Re: SWB Optima Mid Modern Racer

Finally installed the shocks but for the life of me, I cant figure out why is the shocks so hard. I used the original Kyosho gold springs and its softer but, still too hard for my liking. I even changed to 20wt oil, and its 3 hole piston all around, yet it still seems too hard, unlike my Kyosho big ...
