Re: First Time Painting Lexan
If you don't have the body detail parts set for the exhaust and spotlights as well as window netting, Kyosho part number SC-72, you can find suitable window netting in the Tamiya Hotshot window net bag, Tamiya part number 9400637. THANK YOU! That is some very valuable info I have been seeking for w...

Re: First Time Painting Lexan
Yeah, I watched the video you posted, that was really interesting to see as I have never seen that before. I learned something new! I assume you can pick up that liquid mask at any local hobby shop? I can't wait to try it myself and thanks for the video link and extra tips!

Re: First Time Painting Lexan
That liquid mask is pretty cool. I didn't even know they had something like that! So, I guess if you were doing a solid color, then liquid mask is not needed? I am restoring a Vintage Tomahawk and it looks to be one solid color. Should I cut the windows out before or after paint? I believe the...

Re: Scorpion Spearhead
Don't confuse color with anodizing. Anodizing is done first, if you want color it is dyed afterwards. You can anodize it natural and it will still protect the metal yet remain metal color. Ahhh, so the dye is a whole different process? From the parts I've seen here on this forum that have been anod...

Re: Scorpion Spearhead
Does it cost quite a bit to have parts anodized? It doesn't look too hard, but rather time consuming. I will have to see what the budget looks like after I gather all my parts, but anodizing does appeal to me and looks like a great finish. Maybe something I could get done later, but I will be sure t...

First Time Painting Lexan
I have a restoration project that will be close to finish soon. I am going to order the body from TBG. I have some painting experience, but never painted an rc body before. What is the best way to get nice results? I do have an airbrush I bought used last Summer, but have never used it (or any airbr...

Re: Scorpion Spearhead
Yeah, sorry Dennis, I seen were you said you REMOVED the anodize. I think it looks just perfect that way. I'm not sure what Autosol is, but it did the trick on the Scorpion. You almost need sunglasses to look at it, LOL. Not to get sidetracked, but I was watching this youtube video on setting up a h...

Re: Cox/Kyosho Circuit 1000 Buggy
Something I will need some help with, I have to make a battery connector. I have a male & female but I can't tell which one is mounted to the car by the photo I found. I will have to use new pins and cut my own wire, then crimp some new connectors for hooking it to the speed controller. Could so...

Re: Cox/Kyosho Circuit 1000 Buggy
Yeah, I don't want to make it worse! Here are 2 parts that I would like to (eventually) replace. I am going to do my best to clean them up for now. The bumper is in pretty rough shape, but $28 seems a bit much for a new one :/ http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/ae206/hiddenrebelbase/Kyosho%20Circuit...

Re: Cox/Kyosho Circuit 1000 Buggy
Thanks, it has been a lot of work, but it will totally pay off in the end. I need to get some scratches out of the servo plate (which I believe is carbon fiber). Anyone have any ideas for that? As long as I can buff the 1500 grit marks out, I think it would be fine to sand, but I am not sure. Thanks...

Re: Cox/Kyosho Circuit 1000 Buggy
I am going to post a list of parts I am needing here. Because these parts are just so hard to find, I would welcome any help locating some of them. I do check eBay often, but I never would have found those rear swing shafts without help (Thank you Lars). I will try to keep this updated as much as p...
