Re: Fibrelyte tubs no more
I stand corrected. I went back and see the pics are not a fibrelyte product and as I said have not had any experience with their products. If they are cutting 2d parts then I guess they are gonna be good on both sides. I was probably confused on the 2 d parts. sorry for any offense

Re: Fibrelyte tubs no more
A guy on this forum made rc10 bodies and wings with CF and they look 10 times better than the FL tub. http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=34323 Methinks Profit trumps quality at Fibrelyte. Ive heard their 2d stuff is rough on one side as well, but I have not had any experience personall...

Re: diff lube
http://www.dowcorning.com/content/discover/discoverchem/si-lubricants.aspx?e=How+Silicones+Work. This should explain all you want to know about silicone grease, To put it into context, the idea behind using lube in a ball diff is to keep the balls from melting the plastic gear not lube the contact b...

Re: Hi all. New to the site, but not RC
welcome, check power switch. cycle it on and off a few times to maybe knock any corrosion off, also check battery holder and clean contacts. The futabas were pretty stout and I've had the switches act up.

Re: GoMachV's Pin Router thread (for reproducing 2d parts)
Good to know about composites. I have yet to play with them and have most experience with plastics, alloy, and steel. A little drop of 3in1 oil on cold rolled steel or alloy will make blades and bits last longer and cut smoother.

Re: GoMachV's Pin Router thread (for reproducing 2d parts)
Ive used a router table to cut aluminum using the guide fence. found that using cutting oil helps keep the bit from clogging. I use a bandsaw, with a drop or two of oil, and file to do major cuts and use router for internal cuts. Im very careful and respect the tool. The pin router essentially works...

Re: The broken parts thread
Talking about letting kids play with your rc. My stepson's cousin was down and they wanted to run the cars. I have quite a few and so I let them run my jacked up rustler while I was at work. I came home to a three wheel rustler with an exploded caster block and busted servo saver. Later that night t...

Re: Kyosho TF-3 help
thanks for the good info, I had a suspicion the lay shaft was for a two speed so I guess I will have to preserve it and not modify it. Im pretty patient and frugal so the hunt begins.

Kyosho TF-3 help
I got this TF-3 off ebay and its missing a few parts and a few scratches but otherwise in excellent shape. The front oneway bearing was toast so I removed it from the front drive gear and I'm waiting for a new one from china. These are extremely rare and parts are just as rare and expensive. There a...

got a couple of old chargers like that. just collecting dust and taking up shelf space. They a more of an antiquity and do more damage than good usually.

Re: incredible mid conversion of original optima
Agreed but I have to say it was done quite pro and looks pretty clean. I would like to see how it performed as a runner.I just think if you're going to re-engineer a design, might as well do it logically and improve on the original design, not just introduce new weaknesses in the design elements
