What kind of clear paint did you use? I used rattle can clear on my Hot Trick chassis, just whatever HomeDepot had. Came out pretty well.

Yeah, I understand that... it's still poor practice on a layered composite.

Re: RC10 Graphite resto

Thanks for the tips guys. It's funny that the front end of the nose of the chassis is cut vertically so the edge ends up being at a 30-deg angle relative to the material, like a knife edge... no wonder they get frayed and chewed up looking! That edge *should* be perpendicular to the material. I thin...

Re: RC10 Graphite resto

Okay, for sure I'm going to be removing a little bit from the nose of the CF chassis... anyone got any tips on milling carbon fiber? Like 2 vs. 4 flute, bit size and speed, etc.

Re: RC10 Graphite resto

The whitening process will very much depend on the concentration used, the amount of sunlight/UV and how bad parts are yellowed. The transmission case should certainly stay at least overnight if not two full days in peroxide. Why don't you dip them all in the bath to get a more original color? I wo...

Re: RC10 Graphite resto

Thanks to the great tips in this thread, I glued up the nose of my chassis last night. I used LocTite "superglue" with a needle tip so I could get the glue down in between the layers that were separating. We'll see how it comes out. I'm sure I'll still have to trim some of the edge off, bu...

Re: RC10 Graphite resto

Cool, thanks guys. I think I'll reuse them, I think they are kind of cool. I don't need to worry about a couple grams, my shelf can support the extra weight no problem

Re: RC10 Graphite resto

I would try to find the correct half hex ball cups..... Even if they are used. They would fit with the overall condition of the car. Or just keep the heim ends on it. They were a popular upgrade. Okay, maybe I'll just keep the heims. BTW, why did those fall out of vogue? The seem much better than b...

Re: RC10 Graphite resto

I put several coats of rattle can clear coat on my Hot Trick chassis to fill in scratches and it worked fairly well. On this car, i think one of the reasons ths chassis was in such good shape was they had the suspension travel severly limited with fuel tubing on all the shocks. The bottom side of al...

Re: RC10 Graphite resto

You can make it a team car with a 6 hole tower and top load team shocks. But then you'll have to find a gold motor guard. They didn't come with the 6gear graphite, but they did come with the team car. Bah, that's too much work. lol Think I'll stick to my original plan of mainly just cleaning...
