Re: Tower Hobbies RC10GT body knockoff...

These fit the later GT quite well, too, except the wider rear shock tower requires small oblong or square holes be cut in the body protrusions (or mount the shocks further inboard & cut the tower).

I will post pictures later.

Re: Another RC10GT nut here!

If that's the case your probably getting just about everything you can out of that engine. At least on 30% fuel....... Your altitude is probably going to be the limiting factor. Any chance you could drive to a lower altitude and try it? Well, being in CO, it's kind of a long drive to anywher...

Re: Another RC10GT nut here!

if you are only hitting max temps of 210 then you are running fairly rich, you could definitely lean it out quite a bit more It's pretty well as lean as can be on 30%; even another 1/8 turn in had it cutting out at WOT. It's not rich, there's just that much air moving over the (gigantic) cooling he...

Re: Another RC10GT nut here!

I was just thinking to go from 82 to 121 your going to need a serious amount of RPMs or a big gear change Gearing and RPM is not the problem. It's power. With the direct drive off the clutch bell, the final drive ratio is 3:1, so 30K RPM at the motor means 10K at the wheels. Not accounting for the ...

Re: Another RC10GT nut here!

What append record are you trying to obtain at 121 mph? 120.25 is the number to beat http://www.iscspeedrun.com/Records.html I talked to Robin at ERCM, he thinks we can get there with a modded Picco .28 and one of his in line tuned pipes. The LRP makes a lot of power, but it's all down low. It's fl...

Re: My First Vintage RC10 - Team Car Rebuild

I'm anxious to see!

These restorations are fun. Very rewarding, and much easier/cheaper than real cars. MUCH.

Re: Another RC10GT nut here!

Got radar on the black tub today; 46 MPH on dirt roads with the current set up. Thinking 50 on black top and leaned out a touch more; this critter is all over the place on the blow sand that covers the roads out here.

Not that anyone seems particularly interested here..........

Re: A stamp nitro

The problem area is at full left lock, it's not pulling/pushing on the crank at the right angle and may have a hard time returning to center under a load It has no problem doing so sitting static and running it with the TX. In motion, the caster angle will further assist. It's angle of thrust is al...

Re: A stamp nitro

Wait, what? The bellcrank arm would have to be rotated nearly 45 degrees (cant do it) to make it proper. I would have a second look at that especially if you have steering troubles going left! If you pop off the ball cup on the servo and pretend to move like the servo in its arc I think you will se...

Re: A stamp nitro

The layout of fuel tank/steering servo/battery looks very random! Keep it away from people with OCD ;) Hahaha. Yeah, kinda. It was very deliberate, though. I wanted the servo pack near the RX and on the passenger side of the chassis. One, I didn't want wires running all the way from the rear. 2) I ...

Re: A stamp nitro

Now you need some of those plastic eyes for stuffed animals put on the head and a drivers helmet for top the head like the driver looking out the window?hehe be cool !! don I might just do that for display! Don't think I'll run it that way, though; the way I drive, they need all the cooling they ca...

Re: A stamp nitro

Body & some of the wheels/tires came today. Still waiting on the rear jelly beans. Had to make some interesting cuts on the low profile buggy body to clear the head, pull start, shock tower and brake/throttle servo, and will have to get creative with mount posts. It is glaringly obvious that I'm...

That'll be a nice stocker when it's done!

I could never have one like that; the blue chassis trucks are just to easy to modify, and I cannot resist the temptation!

Re: A stamp nitro

Thats clean but id make a small guard to protect the plastic pullstart cover shroud That is actually on the list. It'll be a full shroud, milled from some 5/16" 6061-T651 plate I have. My original plan was to keep the whole thing inside the pan, but the pull start on these O.S. motors is frigg...

Re: A stamp nitro

Have you run it yet? Not yet. The seller of the manifold took forever to ship. Should have it by Friday, though. A standard GT PS manifold gets hit by the tires-even buggy tires. The Thunder Tiger manifold will be cut mid way, rotated about 160* and either silicon coupled or TIG welded to send the ...
