Re: Check Out My New Ride!
Nice score! Looks like it's still got the bushings; get on eBay and grab a set of bearings, deal with "ratkowskis"; good folks up in Montana, I get nearly all of my bearing kits from them. $19 shipped, everything you need: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Standard-Full-Bearing-Kit-for-Vintage-T...

Re: 17mm hex adapter?
I know this is an older thread, but thought some might find this useful. Certainly not a direct fit, but fairly easy to modify for use on Associated trucks. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Traxxas-Blue-17mm-4-Wheel-Hub-Nut-Adapter-for-2wd-Slash-Stamped-Rustler-2wd-/221234118045?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Access...

Re: 1:1 Buggy Videos
was anyone else as annoyed watching the video as I was? Badly edited, and wtf was going on with the first nearly 3 minutes?? Yeah, the guys at NRE definitely aren't video production savvy. What they are, are some of the best engine builders in the world, and they turn out some absolutely wicked stu...

Re: Doritos 2nd Degree Burn and hot sauces!
^^^^^^^^ I didn't personally find the Bhut Jolokia (ghost pepper) any hotter in the mouth than a potent habanero. What I did discover is that they are a whole lot nastier to your gut. Made a batch of salsa with quite a few of them, wasn't what I was expecting while eating, but about a half hour late...

Are you a racer, a basher, a builder or a collector?
I'm probably 2 parts builder, 1 part basher and 1 part collector. I have never raced, can't make that type of time & travel commitment with a business and a family. I honestly do have more fun sourcing/making parts and rebuilding or modifying the vehicles than I do actually using them. Don't get...

Re: Minimum weight limit in racing?
Thats the only good thing about being under weight, is that you can add weights where you want it. If your car is a runner at less than minimum weight, you can add ballast where it helps performance. Much preferable to all the mass being where it has to be to function, with only as much regard for ...

Re: A stamp nitro
Yeah, it would. I put it where I did becausewill the battery pack not fit behind the rear shock tower?
-I omitted the on/off switch, so needed close proximity to the RX
-I wanted to offset engine weight as much as possible
-I didn't want wires running all the way up from the rear

Re: 3D Printing an RC10 Chassis
Lookin' good! I don't think a straight printed piece will hold up, even with the lattice. Nylon will do beter than fragile ABS, but I still think the rigors of actual use will tear it apart in short order. However, introduce some aluminum braces and reinforcements in the right places,n I think you'l...

Nah, he's in Texas, I'm in Eastern Colorado.do justinspeed79, and your self live near each other, because that picturesque ranch looks the same
You're actually seeing several properties there; most of the lots in my neighborhood are 5-8 acres.

Re: A stamp nitro
Swapped in an HPI 20T clutch bell, mucho better! Will try to get it out on black top for a speed run, but obviously a notable increase going from 15T to 20T. Also cleaned what seemed to be some kind of residual oil seeping out of the clutch shoe material, and I have better engagement now. This OS .1...

Haha. I wish I had 40 acres. That's the neighbor's pasture across the road (5 acre), then the local beef farmer's lot behind that (about 2 sections; 1,300 acres).nowhere as impressive as your back 40
I'm only on 7 acres. 'Nuff to build a nice RC track, though

Re: A stamp nitro
Oh man! Video please! Ask, and ye shall receive! Sorry for the quality; battery in the good camera is dead, charger location unknown. We did get the manifold TIG welded last night, in addition to shortening a 10GT pipe & making it rear exit. Wish I could show better speed runs, but the ...

Re: A stamp nitro
Well, it lives! Gearing is way too steep, topping out at probably ~30, 35 MPH, but it runs! As well, the TRX pipe I had laying around is overly restrictive, meant to be used on weeny TRX .12 & .15 motors. It's choking this CV-R .18; no matter how much I played with the HSN, I couldn't get it to ...

Re: Tower Hobbies RC10GT body knockoff...
OK, pictures on a GT with the later wide rear shock tower. Forgive my not being a picture smith like some here. Crappy photographer with a crappy camera. The one I'm leaving clear for display: http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n117/Hunter2506/RC/101_1865_zps25c41ed0.jpg And the one with a period ty...
