Re: The NOS RC10GT build begins!
First gen tank would be cool. Not easy to find though. Not at all. I have a couple, but they're not resto material. Like so many other parts, I'll be watching and acquiring over the coming months and years. The pipe holder should go in font of the stinger. Yeah, I had it this way because I stuck a ...

Re: Build a brushless buggy on a GT chassis?
Well, sold one of the extra black tub GTs, so I used to proceeds to order a Reedy SL550 3,500 KV can and an Associated SC1200BL ESC. Scored both for $124 shipped! Also on the way is another slipper hub. Just need another LiPo and receiver. Already have a couple RRP steel spurs and 32P electric motor...

Re: Pretty sweet tuned pipe
To what note? It certainly looks like it'll make more sound than horsepower."It is tuned, trust me of that"
My experience with trying to route 2 stroke nitro exhaust tells me the thing won't even run with that congloberation.

Vintage toy RC; a blast from my past
So the other day, I just decided for no particular reason to see if my favorite toy RC from my early childhood was up for sale on eBay. Low and behold, I found the exact car that I had received for Christmas back in 1989 at age 7, a Radio Shack Turbo Z Racer. It was a $39.99 BIN with $16 shipping, s...

Re: The NOS RC10GT build begins!
Is this going to be a runner? Definitely not. I'm not generally big on shelfers, but these white GTs are rare, and I have 3 other GTs plus a GT2 to play with (not to mention the other 11 kits). I spent way too much time, energy and money finding parts and cleaning to go thrash it. I still plan to g...

Re: The NOS RC10GT build begins!
Almost there! New clutch bell & shoes should be here tomorrow, along with (hopefully) a piece of the natural color silicon exhaust tubing. Still in search of a rear bumper, but otherwise, she's complete! No spiffy background, but here ya go: http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n117/Hunter2506/RC/...

Re: Build a brushless buggy on a GT chassis?
should be easy I did a brushless truck conversion (it was stupid fast) and a nitro buggy conversion should be a simple mix Yeah, not really a question of difficulty so much as what parts arrangement might work out best. Making things fit and fabbing is no problem; I built an RC18T powered by an AE ...

Re: New to me OFNA Ultra LX Comp!
Well, that Dynamite .26 was a bit tired (ran good up top, but doggy off the line and didn't like to idle), so I let it go cheap on eBay and stuck my Picco .21 in for now. Probably going to put a Novarossi .28 5T in it later, but the little Picco runs it pretty well. Also had issues with the spare se...

Re: TC3 and TC4
Everyone at my track calls my tc3 a relic If the TC3/NTC3 were "relics", I doubt they'd be so heavily supported in the aftermarket. You hear that about a lot of the vintage stuff, right up until you spank the brand new kit junior is running. I show up at the track with my old RC10GTs, and...

Re: The NOS RC10GT build begins!
Hard to believe it is the same truck. Well, a lot of parts came from the used truck, but those are brand new front wheels, front arms, front bulk head, and of course, the chassis. The shocks came off the 10T, and the ones on the 10T now are a set that I got in pairs and rebuilt awhile ago. I just c...

Re: Build a brushless buggy on a GT chassis?
Well, it's gonna be an ugly critter. Lol. But I'll be curious to see how a long wheel base, mid-motor buggy drives. http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n117/Hunter2506/SANY0136_zps6445e0b8.jpg Still have to decide what I'm using for steering parts, and I'm a little short on turnbuckles of the correct...

Re: The NOS RC10GT build begins!
Well, it's coming along. Scored most of the parts I needed in the form of a mostly complete truck with black arms. Luckily, pretty much everything on it was in real good shape except the trans brace, which I found a nice used one from Valkyrie. Still waiting on a few pieces, but I do have an engine ...

Build a brushless buggy on a GT chassis?
What do ya'll think? I was just glossing over the piles of spare parts, I have darn near enough to assemble a whole 'nother vehicle of some kind, so the wheels started turning. Should a build a long wheel base buggy with wide front arms on a blue GT flat chassis? If so, what combination of parts do ...

Wire wheel them, hit them with some 600-1000 grit.
If you want them blued, use Birchwood-Casey gun blue.
