Re: Delete

Sorry guys, I just had to say I really don't like that idea for plug wire looming. The wires are much too close together and could easily touch each other just an inch or two above/below the zip-ties. It would likely be at risk of causing cross-firing and looks ghetto. For under $5 you have a choic...

Re: Delete

Well, since I'm in a much better mood today, and since some people seem interested now, here is the beast: http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n117/Hunter2506/RC/IMG_0615_zpsb1c0cb86.jpg It's a Beeman X8 150A ESC & 2150KV sensored combo I scored for a really good price. I had a chance to run it o...

Re: Delete

Coelacanth, it has to do with the verbiage, combined with my mood yesterday after a long day of dealing with a$$hats on all ends of my business. Saying "to fix it" instead of "to change it" implied that there was something wrong with my method, rather than it simply being a diffe...

Re: Small cordless screwdriver suggestions

I keep a Black & Decker LDX172 7.2V LI drill in my track box. Not being variable speed is a little frustrating at times, but the clutch works fine to avoid stripping screws. I usually run them in with the drill and then torque by hand anyway. I chose the drill over a driver because more than onc...

Re: 4WD GT

interesting - maybe something that can be reapplied to buggies Yeah....really would only consist of adjusting shafts lengths. RS4 diffs and shaft drive might not work well together, though The older style: http://i.ebayimg.com/t/HPI-RS4-3-Evo-Nitro-DIFFERENTIAL-Front-Rear-Bevel-Gear-Case-Gearbox-Di...

4WD GT

This is just a teaser, but I will chronicle the build as it happens. Not sure what exactly it's gonna be yet, other than the plan is to use a blue tub with HPI RS4 diffs front and rear, B44 C-hubs and steering blocks, and regular old CVDs front and rear. Don't know yet if I'm going to run a center d...

Just not interested in discussing my projects amongst pedantic individuals who have no interest in the substance of the project itself. Seems some here would rather hash out yet another WOIN thread or somesuch than partake in something different and original.

Re: FWD-GT TOP SPEED CAR

I think it would always be best to keep the cars wheels inside the bodyline to reduce drag. See what kink said. With your typical chassis, it becomes a question of trade-off in downforce versus drag. Increasing downforce increases wind resistance. Leaving wheels open also creates drag, but the smal...

Re: Project Bastard Child

You wanna make a rat rod chassis, grab some 3/16" music wire and head out here. We can TIG it into some crazy spider web looking thing that will NEVER break.

Re: FWD-GT TOP SPEED CAR

Pretty much, yeah.

As an aside, I finally got around to doing break-in on that Nova. Yeah....gonna need to block off that hole and/or run a hot plug. Highest temp I saw was 181*F, was consistently between 130*-150*. I like to keep 'em cooler during break in, but that is flat out cold.

Re: FWD-GT TOP SPEED CAR

I did do one kamikaze run no body to see what would happen. Car stayed perfectly planted the whole time. And managed my fastest run no body. That's why I chose a cut-up GT2 body for my speedster. http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n117/Hunter2506/RC/IMG_0608_zpsedb71793.jpg Of course, I need the fl...
