Clodbuster gearing for heavy metal class

Hey guys, I'm prepping a clod for vintage racing in the heavy metal class and I'm wondering what gearing I should be at for thunder Alley in Lucama NC. I've got the stock silver can motors in the truck for now but I've been thinking of getting the team brood 27t motors, any feedback on those would b...

Well Brocklee - How did the McMaster - Carr "Rings" work? We're all waiting to know!!! :D Sorry I completely forgot about this! The diff seems to be holding up fine! The car has about 7 race days on it without any issues. This is with a 17.5t motor in the car

Re: jrxt marketplace score

Nice truck! That should clean up good. The upgrades that I see are.. Tecnacraft turnbuckles, ball bearing steering arms, Pure-Tech battery strap, Lightspeed Litesink and A&L Powerclutch. Also has AE antenna mount and AE battery box used as a esc mount. I think you nailed it on the head! The cha...

jrxt marketplace score

Hello gentlemen! Here's my latest FB marketplace score! From the looks of it, there are a number of upgrades on this beast but I've never ran a jrxt before so I can't say for certain. That being said, I think I'm going to just clean this one up as best I can and maybe redo the body but keep the same...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

I was recently rebuilding the shocks on an rc10t2 I recently picked up and found these pistons in the front shocks. I was curious if anyone has any info on them. It looks like the two pieces separate and compress under compression and rebound. They were only installed on the front shocks .

Re: custom works 4475 out drives in rc10t2

Looking at photos of them, they look to have a flange on them that is wider than what is needed for a t2 transmission where the outdrive bearings sit. So they look like they won't fit. I think you're right, thanks! The stock outdrives are still available, is there a reason that you are looking at t...

Re: Part #: 6579 (Associated Diff Drive Rings) : This item has been discontinued

I went ahead and ordered a set of the McMaster Carr rings listed earlier (https://www.mcmaster.com/90482A432/) and they seem to measure the same +-.002" in all dimensions except for the thickness. The McMaster Carr rings measure .005" smaller. I did have to sand a few manufacturing groves...

Is there any word on how the McMaster Carr diff rings are doing? I've got to rebuild a diff in my rc10 ce Ive thrown together for a vintage class we're getting put together.
