Re: Tamiya 801XT build plus electric conversion

Awesome build, thanks to this thread I ended up getting one of these, it's my first truggy but not my first nitro. So far in the build it all seems to be pretty decent quality, I haven't had any problems stripping out screws yet but the screw head socket is shallow and if you had a loose fitting too...

New to me car options

My current car is on it's last leg and I just got a promotion so it's time for a new car. we're looking at a bunch of different options, and don't have anything specific in mind. right now my top pics are the lexus is350, bmw 535i, and the Nissan Titan. I'm just curious what everyone else would get,...

Re: Need a bit of ZX5 help. slipper and diff adjustment

Here's a pic of the steering knuckle and opposite lock on my zx5 http://i60.tinypic.com/2vtozts.jpg%5B/IMG%5D http://i57.tinypic.com/n6xny0.jpg And here's the washers I added to the steering knuckle to get rid of the bump steer, you can see it at full compression and full droop. There's still a litt...

Re: Need a bit of ZX5 help. slipper and diff adjustment

I'll have to look at mine tonight but I think the steering knuckle might be the wrong one, I think mine only has one position, I'll talk a pic tonight and post it

Re: Need a bit of ZX5 help. slipper and diff adjustment

Ill just be running on asphalt, but it will be brutal traction, with about 8.5 turn motor. I think the diffs need new internals! I used to run an original zx5 when they first came out, and dont remember the diffs being any kind of issue from new. Sometimes it dosent work to recycle balls. Do you th...

Re: Brushless combo recomendations

I've been running a speed passion reventon pro/speed passion v3.0 8.5t combo in my zx5 and I really like that combo. It has plenty of power and the esc is butter smooth. Before that I was running novak kinetic and IMO the speed passion is the better of the two.

Re: GoMachV's Pin Router thread (for reproducing 2d parts)

I use McMaster Carr for the g10/fr4 It works well on carbon fiber as well, here is the yokomo chassis I copied... http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/k545/gomachv/1EFFE373-AB17-41EA-AFDC-D5A929CE63BF_zps19n1moqf.jpg That's awesome! Re: 1:1 car help.

Ok guys. I'm on the hunt for a very hard to find part. 1984 toyota supra that i'm fixing for a friend, he's the origonal owner and the car only has about 15k on it. He had someone else put a new fuel tank on it and for who knows what reason the guy tossed out the fuel sender for the gas guage. So w...

Re: "Other" hobbies (pics)

-sixtysixdeuce How are those all steel s&w autos? I've looked at those but I've always been afraid if buying another s&w auto. I bought a sigma online a handful of years ago and I didn't care for the trigger on that gun, it was extremely heavy and gritty, I like their revolvers but my only s...

Re: "Other" hobbies (pics)

@kyoshojoe

I've started a balsa plane that i eventually want to convert into a control line plane, right now I've just finished covering it and mounting a .020 cox engine on it. The only pic I've got is of the airframe, the covering I used is a dark navy blue.

Re: "Other" hobbies (pics)

Brocklee- I'm sure you've checked it, but be careful with that over travel screw. Could cause an engagement failure with the secondary sear, causing the hammer to follow. At best, this would result in the rifle being a single shot; at worst, it could cause slam firing. If you really want to improve...

Are you thinking of g10 (also known as garolite, or fr4)? Fyberlyte might have something also and they are located in North Yorkshire

Re: "Other" hobbies (pics)

Those are sweet, I almost bought a les Paul kit guitar a couple of times, my big project I did was with the duo sonic, when I got that off of eBay it had a nasty blue/purple/black sunburst paint job on it that was botched, you can still see the old color up by the tuning pegs on it. I refinished the...

"Other" hobbies (pics)

Just curious to see what everyone else's hobbies are, People have mentioned them in other threads but I haven't seen one dedicated to "other" non rc hobbies and it seems to me like there is a pretty talented group of people here and I'm sure there's some pretty awesome non rc things coming...

Re: 1:1 car trouble vent....

So jealous that you guys have easy access to old / vintage vehicles that you can actually drive on a daily basis. Around here, any old cars you see are garage queens so the sightings are few and far between. Isn't it fairly easy to import vehicles from the states? Where I live, you can't throw a ro...
