Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

Looking for a lil' help from brushed motor experts... A guy who used to race dirt oval in the 90s/early 2000s gave these to me a while back and I've never been able to figure out what they are. Both look like they have never seen a track, and while I didn't take them apart and try to count the coppe...

Re: MIP Steering Bar

Hitec digital servo, new saver and all is well...running faster laps than some of the brand new stock buggies.

So back to one of my original questions...what's the MIP steering bar supposed to give me?

Re: MIP Steering Bar

No toe out.

You're saying I should make the shocks more upright for increased steering? I thought laying em down gave me that.

So upright up front and lay down the rear?

MIP Steering Bar

What is it supposed to do? What advantage is it supposed to present? I have one NIP and was thinking about installing it on my jrx2 proformance but I don't know what it's supposed to do. I was lacking steering all together, but with new tires, moving the front camber link to the inside, and adding a...

Re: Modern Runner Issues...need some suggestions

I bought a set of the spoked j-concepts wheels that are made for a b4 and they fit much better than the prolines I was running...combined with the new rips fronts the steering was much improved. 10-32 lock nuts hold the wheels on fine and give them enough clearance so the wheel spins free...guess th...

Re: Modern Runner Issues...need some suggestions

I was planning on digging into the car and posting some pics after work today but had some BS pop up, so I'll get after it tomorrow night and show y'all what I'm talkin' about. I raced last night and with the help of the track owner I was able to figure out a few of the issues I was having regarding...

Modern Runner Issues...need some suggestions

After a few months building it I've finally had the chance to run a couple batteries through the old Jrx2, but I'm having some issues and need suggestions... 1. Steering...it doesn't have enough to make it though the tight sections of the course. I'm running the JrxPro front tower, upper mounts are ...

Re: Losi XX4 Re-release!!! Er.... wait a sec... :D

Just watched a bunch of video of the 22-4 and the thing is freakin' awesome. I've never owned a 4wd buggy, and this thing will probably be my first, even at that price. I just spent months and about $300 rebuilding a vintage car and I'm sure I could track down an XX4, but I don't know if I'll enjoy ...

Re: Running a brushless set-up on the LRM

That's what kind of blows my mind...these guys work at a hobby shop, race 3 or 4 days a week, but at this one shop in particular their knowledge only goes back a few years. The guys that own the racetrack are much more knowledgeable...guy that owns the new track is actually the same guy that owned t...

Re: Running a brushless set-up on the LRM

Check it out y'all...$10 for 6 pairs of sliders for a Traxxas Bandit, and they're damn near identical (Traxxas slider up top, Losi on the bottom)...wonder where Traxxas got the idea from? traxxasslider.JPG The only thing you have to do is drill out the pin holes because the traxxas holes are a littl...

Re: Running a brushless set-up on the LRM

Thanks dude...been workin' my butt off on that stupid thing and I was ready to put it on the track until this happened. The sliders I was using were used to begin with (on top of being 20+ years old) so I expected them to fail at some point, just not so quickly. Here's a pick of where it broke...joi...

...and 30min of bashing later, I snapped a slider. What's the most durable option for rear axles?

Sliders, CVDs, or dogbones?

Re: LRM brushless gearing/FDR question

It is a 17.5t, and I do have the boost coming in pretty low...4000rpm I think.

I received a couple pinions in a deal I made with a guy and I've had some issues getting them to stay on, but a dab of clear nail polish on the set screw usually fixes the problem.
