Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

That mono shock system sure is cool, it was in the Japanese catalogs for scorps and tamiya SRBs, it was something diff they were trying, yes it is not better than an independent system, the idea of shocks is to keep the body level, than is that article says, that mono shocks helped keep the rear whe...

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

Well I can say that the Japanese designed the scorp really well, the angled front and rear shafts are engineered to give you that freedom to camber the tires and to create that -ve camber during upward suspension travel, so yeah by adjusting the angle of the front shaft, you can dramtically improve ...

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

dO THE ARMS FIRST, you know what, it is much easier for a bit to go 'true' if the hole is deep, so the knuckles should be fine

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

The best way to do it is use a hand powered drill, you must enlarge the only a little, say, 1mm + in dia if you can help it, that way the drill bit will stay its course, following the already 'pilot hole' that the arm already has. Don't go from one hole to the other, do one hole, turn the arm around...

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

that would work, the arm pivots are beefy enough to take that enlarged hole. I have small tubes that will work great, got them from old VHS players, you find some great parts from these machines

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

Thanks Radiocontrolhead and Lars, before you slip in something there, you will have to drill out a little. I was also thinking if I can replace the shaft, its a little too thick for my taste, but I guess you would have to do a lot. I have hardened 3mm shafts but they are straight, and you can't bend...

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

One way the slop can be taken care of for good is to drill out the pivot hole in the front trailing arm and insert a brass or better yet, plastic sleeve, very thin one so you don't enlarge the hole too much, than it will be a tight fit, no slop, but will still pivot very smoothly, that way, you will...

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

JUST DID and gave him a 'pat on the back' and 2 thumbs up for those excellent decals, man they are professional like from the pictures. I would like to get my hands on the 480s and 480t, digging the colors. Since I will be using a plain 380 brushless for my vintage beetle, I will slap one of the lem...

Re: kyosho geardiff limitations

well the 2014 scorpion has 4 spider gears, just like the original scorpion buggy, http://www.kyosho.com/jpn/support/instructionmanual/buggy/pdf/30613_Scorpion_2014_spop.pdf part SC228, it shows 4 spider gears, but yeah you want to go get the ball diff, better choice, smoother performance and lightwe...

Re: kyosho geardiff limitations

well all i can say is thats the way she rolls, its limited by design, you can not do much there, yes the process could have been better but that is how it was, what you don't see can't hurt you. if parts or complete modern diff can be substituted, it would be great but it has a pulley molded in. not...

Re: Kyosho beetle rere

never THOUGHT ABOUT that, asso-man  Well I am getting one of these, I have made a scorpion chassis, complete, and put on it a vintage sand scorcher body, had to cut the chassis short at the rear and than cut the front bits off where the bumper bolts, but because I LOVE the VW beetle, and si...

Some more pics of the HG shocks fitted to a hopped up scorpion from time tunnel, Some CF parts as well as the machined front shaft locks. Wondered how they would look. The HG shocks have plastic tops, thought it would have all anodized body for that asking price. http://www.time-tunnel.jp/02/article...
