Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

You gonna go for the new version of the transmission?[/quote] I don't know yet yet :!:, I mean I am very content with the original, have the 2 versions and have the beefed up one fitted. I must say the geared diff could have been smoother. I am still eyeing for a CRP ball diff ($255 from John's hobb...

Re: more vintage kyosho vintage hopups and mods - 4x4 scorpi
Yeah, the rear slots are neat, I had 2 sets (front anf rears), sold one set and am keeping one just for the hack of it, I prefer alloy to plastic but the scale and realism of the yellow slots have takn me off my feet  I like the hot rod/gasser type wheel/tire setups. big fat ones at the bac...

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion
Gotta hand to KYOSHO, they did a great job with the SCORPION, no ones complaining  Since I have the original scorpion chassis and parts, I am not interested in buying the complete set, instead I would to get my hands on the HOPUPS to fit to my vintage setup. I have the used GOODYEAR tires o...

more vintage kyosho vintage hopups and mods - 4x4 scorpion!!
Here are some more vintage factory mods and designs associated with the scorpion - mono shock setup and a 4x4 scorpion?? way cool! In TIME TUNNEL, someone has done a similar job (used RC10 type - MIP ball diff for front) http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/scotoma84/GALLERY/show_image.html?id=10272454&no=1...

Re: Interesting custom built RC10
COOL STUFF!!!
I like the hopups very much, look beautiful and real tough. I think the buggy went high cause of the aluminum steering parts, titanium turnbuckles etc, just some cool parts that you can not get hold off, I guess.
Its certainly built for racing and bashing![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

Re: Daughter and boy friend off to South America riding a Ur
First of all Congratulations to your daughter!!!!!!. Although I like sticking to 4 wheels, I have always LOVED vintage bikes, especially WW2 ones. Thats one cool looking bike, like the low, long frame, thats what sets these things apart from the new ones. Wow side car, NICE. Man looks like they are ...

yes, the rims/wheels should work, they have no hex slots or slot for pins. Check this thread by gomachv

What do you mean, will Pargu not give you those alloys and refund your money?? Yea, they would have been the BEST!

Re: Maxxum steering rod
I like the design of the maxxum when I look at the manual, they used to make some really cool designs. One thing is certain when it comes to FWD, strength wise it has the right design, the fronts are beefed up with A arms, while the rears are lightweight, simply bobbing along. Its always the fronts ...

Re: Maxxum steering rod
I like the way the FWD system looks, on a road car you can not really can not tell until you remove the body, but with buggies, the design change is so much that it really does look diff and unique.

Re: Maxxum steering rod
that's a VERY clean Maxxum by the way, the first I have seen, interesting FWD system. :D . I have seen other similar designs, what is the pros and cons of FWD as opposed to RWD? Should go with a beefier setup to make it really standout and be strong not to bend. What I do is get 3mm / 1/8" diam...

Re: kyosho scorpion vintage hopups - japanese site!!! LOOK
Hey, Shodog, I was wondering about the MIP rear trailing arms you got there, It has its advantages - doesn't break as the aluminum ones do under the extreme stress that it may face. Are these lighter or about the same weight as the standard aluminum ones? I am thinking that you got to go with longer...

Re: kyosho scorpion vintage hopups - japanese site!!! LOOK
what kind of rear wheels are you using? maybe convert to a 1/4" to hex adapter and shim out a little bit? Or convert to 3/16" axle and use a longer variant to get the backspacing needed. exactly what jwscab said, you could do that. that's the only way these were fitted in the first place ...
