Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

The shocks that you got done is from APA? To me the color looks really good but looking at it in real and in sunlight will give the true 'color'. I got a new set to compare with. Even so, they must have just that one color in red anyway, I guess.

Re: Cox/Kyosho Circuit 1000 Buggy

GOOD STUFF Russel, yes when you get a lot of RC stuff like that, just hold on to em and soon you will see that you want to make this and that, cause once you done with one, you wanna make another completely different piece that is unique, its fun, frustrating and heavy on the wallet but rewarding. I...

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

I know what you saying but the inside of the shock where its so finely threaded, it bare aluminum, so I will have the inside altogether blocked from anodizing. Plus I have replaced the aluminum pistons with plastic ones for smoother travel and less wear on the inner walls. when I get ready, I want t...

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

You are right, Coelacanth about the ano protecting the insides from wearing out even though there is oil in there. But the CB 88s have really fine threading, I don't know if the anodizing is going to fill it up to that extent where it is hard to screw the bottom retainer?

Kyosho CB 88 and CB 89 shock dampers - NIP (Modification)

Just wanted to let you guys know, I won these off ebay a month or so ago, came from China, all new in glass box, sealed - brand new CB 88 and CB 89 dampers for the kyosho range of 1/6 scale buggies in the 1970s. These look great and function very well. I believe these were the original or initial de...

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

Hey thanks Gomachv, I will send an email to them. Wow they do a second form of really anodizing, diamond hardness! Will ask for quotes etc. If you don't want them to anodize the inside of shock body, do they cover it up or do you need to give them the bottom retainer as well, in my case its aluminum...

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

I can do all the prep work myself and I prefer that I do it, especially for the shocks, remove all the scratch marks evenly. So than it will be $45 plus shipping, I live in SF. Does bob have a site or contact infor? Advance precision anodizing - the name says it all! You will do it once so better do...

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

JUST BEAUTIFUL, love how the shocks turned out, that deep blood red color, I have some used CB 88s that need a makeover! Where had you have the anodized done and for how much, I am guessing the charge would be a minimum standard price for if you did 1 or 10 pieces huh? I just need my shocks done, th...

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

I love the kyosho LEMANS brushless if that is what you are referring to. It should look great on the scorpion but not as nice as a mint vintage lemans of your choice. Performance wise the brushless wins. I am have posted all my builds on flickr, just figuring out how it can be viewed by public. I wi...

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

I don't know much about the 490 that kyosho released but I would get any of their 80s anodized motors  , really cool. Anyone know IF there are 'LEMANS' motor decals available somewhere???? Man it JUST looks SO COOL! 8)

I like the red, blue and green Lemans, beautiful colors.

Re: Cox/Kyosho Circuit 1000 Buggy

you are GOOD, your speciality was helis and planes, right? well you have jumped right into rc buggies and a vintage one at that and have done a great job. classic buggies demand a lot of hours, ingenuity and a whole lot of other things, they are not RTR which makes em so much fun, great job on the u...

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

Thanks olblueyez! The cf bumper is very promising stronger than plastic or aluminum, it is just perfect. I have scorcher body on mine so I will make s custom cf bumper for it myself. I have spent hundreds of $$ on my buggy, on rare to find parts so $$ does not hurt, now with the 2014 rr, I will wait...
