Brushless in old buggies - bring me up to speed

Back in the day motors were always rated by Turns. The lower the number the more time you would spend repairing your buggy and motor  What is the deal with brushless? What rating is 'normal' power for an old buggy? Something that will not kill it's transmission or cause it to crash too easi...

Re: RB5 / ZX-5 Big Bore shock dimensions?

I am now just getting the retro shocks I want then getting custom carbon fibre towers made to match them perfectly. So it is not an issue.

But also I decided I should stick to a retro theme, or it would be too mix and match. So the theme is retro hop up's.

Re: vintage tractors

It never stops amazing me how much space you have in America. The size of your average houses, rooms, land, quantity of toys is all generally amazing.

Re: New hobby room

When that shelf space turns out not to be big enough you know you have issues  Time to start being selective if it comes to that.

Re: Sometime we just need some time away.

I still chat loads on a car audio forum. Mainly about anything other than car audio. I havent installed anything in a coule of years so that is overdue. Once I have finished with my new rc toy and bmx re-build. Life is better with multiple distractions.

Re: RB5 / ZX-5 Big Bore shock dimensions?

Thanks, I found out the fronts were too high and the rears too short. What industry standard? They are all different :D

Anyway I decided to stick with retro and go for old Kyosho Golds. Well I have the rears anyway, so halfway there.

Re: Looking for very dark gunmetal / not quite black

Thanks for the suggestions. But I have also had poor experiences with window tints. Also I do not wish to mix colours as it will not be perfect. If there is no off the shelf solution I'll have to pay a pro air brusher, who will no doubt blend something before spraying. Or have a rethink!

Looking for very dark gunmetal / not quite black

I have seen medium shade greys and gunmetal colours. I have also seen lots of plain jet blacks. But is there a lexan paint shade which is in between? Closer to black than grey (maybe 80% towards black) and ideally metallic. Just an off the shelf rattle can please.

Thanks!

Re: Old school Yokomo and the newer kits....

I have to say if I ever bought a second rc car it would be an old school Yokomo Dogfighter YZ-10. For me they are the coolest 4WD buggy ever made.

Re: RC10 World's A&L - 1st project since 1995

Dampers / shocks - thoughts wanted... I am not a huge fan of the green/grey-ish colour of the World's dampers. Nor am I a huge fan of the white plastic accessories on those dampers. Yes I know they are period, correct, rare etc. But I am going to do this to please my eyes for when it is on display. ...
