Re: C&M Cobra Nemesis

I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd add to it a bit... I still race a Cobra Nemesis on Stateline RC high-banked dirt oval in NE Indiana. Parts are available from Pete Russell, but to improve and make parts more readily available (and cheaper) I modified my active racer to RPM RC10 front ...

Re: WOIN RC10 Sprinter... with "modern" electronics

Alloy chassis would add too much weight for oval racing (IMO)... as far as the body goes, I hand folded .040 lexan for everything except the hood (with scoop) and nose piece. Side panels are notched and slotted over cage and secured with one 4-40 screw. The hood pivots on another pair of screws and ...

Re: WOIN RC10 Sprinter... with "modern" electronics

I guess what threw me off a little was the front wing mounts. The Ascot I have has small stubs coming up from the cross bar to mount the forward edge of the top wing. This chassis just has tapped holes...

Re: WOIN RC10 Sprinter... with "modern" electronics

I've got an Ascot and didn't think this was the same. The side nerfs attach to the cage with a slip-in stub. Do you happen to have one of these with a photo? I'd be happy to hear that it is an RCRC Ascot...

Re: WOIN RC10 Sprinter... with "modern" electronics

I would really like to idebtify the cage, unless it is just someone's handbuild. Here's a photo during construction of the unbodied chassis:

WOIN RC10 Sprinter... with "modern" electronics

Thought I'd post my latest dirt oval sprint car. It is an old RC10 sprint conversion of unknown variety (anyone who recognizes the cage, I'd appreciate knowing make). To run on a regular basis at my local track, I've added RPM arms, B4 hub, carriers and spindles, TC3 threaded shocks, Novak Ballistic...

Re: Brushless gearing starting point

That Novak chart is the same I use with no problems. I like the oval numbers for rollout too. Just throws the tire size into the equation.

Re: First Anodizing Attempt

I haven't read the online, at-home methods... but I know when I was purchasing plated and finished parts for Raytheon, anodize ghosting and varying colors was caused by inadequate circulation in the tank. The liquid needed to be moving around the parts in a uniform method to get a uniform finish. Ma...

Re: Bottom loader shock question

I ordered them from mcmaster-carr... i think they were 1/4 by .015 thick. I'll clarify with the part number. As always if dont have another order going to mcc then best to go to home depot.

Re: My vintage dirt oval hoard

Your cage and nerfs are identical to mine and i believe mine is an Ascot. My chassix is flat fiberglass with an RC10 front kick up plate.

Re: My vintage dirt oval hoard

I'm also restoring a BB sprint ( although I think it is an Ascot). I have been told that Gary McAllister made the bodies. They were called The Gambler. I've also been told you can talk Gary into pulling one for you. I haven't tried yet, but if there is at least two of us, maybe It'll further entice ...

Re: Whole lot of Andy's build,

ok, I guess nobody likes my buggy/build. Maybe someone will like the next one I'm collecting parts for. No worries, I love it and I'm really liking the prospective look and build of the next one. Ha. Very nice. I love the black also. Its the way I build nearly everything. Also love the Andy's parts...

Re: Old Is new - OVAL Edition!!

First and foremost, I know NOTHING about oval racing, but for some reason I thought I remembered cars running 1 short and one longer arm, but maybe I am crazy. I know that some of the bodies were offset and ran large wing dams. http://mckeeferyracing.com/images/Super%20Mod%20Car%20For%20Sale%20Phot...

Re: Old Is new - OVAL Edition!!

our local racing facility has pretty much elimiated stock racing, except for legends. in open no one can complain about cheating. True that... but it has become a battle of who can spend the most on motors. I personally can not buy a dozen motors and screen. The 17.5 classes (27T Brushed) and even ...
