Re: Light Weight Outdrive on T3

No they wont fit unfortunately. Associated #1766 are for a 2.6:1 transmission and the B2/B3/T3 are 2.4:1. From information that I can gather on ring sizes the 2.6 rings are 17mm ID / 23mm OD, the 2.4 rings are 13.4mm ID / 21mm OD.

Re: Pro-Touring/Restomod RC10

This is where the 6 gear Associated trans is a bit different than a more conventional 3 gear trans. On a 6 gear the differential is the spur gear, there was no slipper. If you hold the spur gear and turn one tire you will see it work. The gearbox is split in half with 3 gears per side which work ind...

Re: Pro-Touring/Restomod RC10

Welcome !

You'd need some sort of diff unless your inventing some kind of revolutionary slipperental. 2wd cars dont handle well with locked diffs. I look forward to seeing how this turns out.

Post pics and share info about your home built RC cars.

I couldn't find anything on this so I thought I'd make a post about it.

Please share info and post pictures of your custom home built RC cars, preferably complete cars with tires and body. I'm not talking about modified "stock" vehicles using aftermarket parts but rather home made cars.

Re: Carbon fiber chassis prep

I dont like the way they use the glue on the plastic, that is a disaster waiting to happen. Personally I like to use a small bottle cap. Also a lot of 1/12 guys like to really round the edges of their chassis so they don't drag on the carpet. This really thins out the outer layers of carbon making i...

Re: The BMX (and other bikes) thread

Here's one of my bikes that I just finished restoring a couple of weeks ago. I have an original seat coming for it and a new seat post that should have arrived by now but hasn't.

Bike rides like a dream and the Shimano DXR brakes are by far the best I've used yet.

Re: What would you do with this buggy?

Whoever made the arm did a pretty good job actually, quite surprising considering the screws they used elsewhere. It wouldn't be too hard to restore with all the Thunder Tiger parts available. Is it an actual B2 or a B3? I dont know the differences between them as I was never into post tub chassis R...

What would you do with this buggy?

If you owned this buggy what would you do with it? Restore it, run it, sell it off, keep for parts or throw it in the bin? It is pretty rough, has a home made arm, some coarse screw treatment, body painted in house paint and is generally beat. If it is an original B2 then it's quite rare. I don't ow...

Re: I'm building a gold pan RC10 runner.

Unfortunately it will probably cost more to build then to just pick up a cheap 2nd hand buggy. The problem is though if I did that I'd still have left over parts which would lead to another buggy and the vicious cycle would start all over again.

I'm building a gold pan RC10 runner - WOIO

After digging through all my stuff I thought I'd build a runner out of left over parts that I wouldn't otherwise use, so, I might as well put them to use. I'm toying between the idea of running a wide arm car with modern tires, or keeping with the narrow arms and 1.9 tires for nostalgia. I'm leaning...

Re: General Lee build

The old Bolink body is still available and fits straight on the DS perfectly. The HPI body is too long in my opinion and requires too much messing around to make fit.

I'm a newbie............... Well, sort of.

Hello, Although I am new to this forum I have been building, racing and collecting Associated RC cars for the past 20+ years. I've recently had a 5 year break from the collecting side of things due mainly to concentrating on racing. Now that I've hung up my transmitter I've decided to get back into ...
